Third Party Sampling of Coal

About us

Quality Council of India’s (QCI) intends to provide a holistic quality determination and monitoring system for coal supplies to consumers. Initially, QCI entered the coal ecosystem for facilitating independent sampling services to consumers under Power Sector (Special Forward E auction) and Non- Power Sector (Linkage auction), with feedback and response mechanism and quicker turnaround time. In 2018, scope of work was extended to Non-Power Sector (FSA Linkage auction, Spot auction & Exclusive auction) and Power Sector (Shakti scheme); By the end of 2020, QCI fostered its coverage for power Linkage consumers as well. Within circumscribed domain, QCI ensures transparency, efficiency & accuracy in scrutinizing the quality of coal with the help of NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) and NABCB (National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies) along with technological integration in various processes of TPS. Currently, QCI is present at more than 200 locations providing Third Party Sampling of coal, working with CIL & its 7 subsidiaries along with NEC and have signed contracts with more than 200 power and Non- power consumers for the same. With an aim to improve sampling services and ensure quality both the seller and the purchaser in terms of Coal dispatch, QCI strive hard towards improving underlying processes.
