Bridging the Information Gap: Empowering Farmers Through Accessible Advice Access to agricultural advisory services is vital, but the journey from advice to implementation is not always easy. While some farmers face no issues, many encounter challenges like poor relevance of information, lack of follow-up support, non-availability of inputs, and financial constraints. With 48.5% of farmers citing financial challenges and 37.7% struggling with resource availability, it's clear that we need to do more to support our farmers. From expanding rural broadcasting services and leveraging Digital Public Infrastructure to ensuring the relevance and usefulness of advice, every step counts in empowering farmers to adopt sustainable and productive practices. Join us in the movement to empower farmers! Let's work together to ensure that every farmer has the tools and resources they need to succeed. #AgricultureAdvice #EmpowerFarmers #DigitalAgriculture #FinancialSupport #SustainableFarming #BroadcastingRuralAreas #JoinTheMovement Transform Rural India Heifer International Grameen Foundation India The Agri-Entrepreneur Growth Foundation (AEGF) Syngenta India Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture FICCI Development Intelligence Unit Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH

Tackling Challenges and Scaling Solutions in Poultry Farming: Insights from the BYP Model The Backyard Poultry (BYP) Model is reshaping how we approach sustainable poultry farming, integrating biosecurity, women empowerment, and market access. The model addresses key challenges like high mortality rates and lack of proper veterinary care. Through partnerships with SHGs and FPOs, farmers gain access to crucial inputs and markets, ensuring profitability and community growth. Key takeaways: 🐓 Preserving Indigenous Breeds – A focus on local, free-range poultry to meet rising consumer demand. 🌱 Reducing the Revenue Cycle – Shortened cycles ensure consistent income for marginal farmers. 💡 Strengthening Market Linkages – Empowering farmers with community-led access to rural and urban markets. 🌍 Climate Resilience & Risk Management – Building a sustainable, climate-resilient poultry model with tools like early warning systems. The convergence of government schemes like the National Livestock Mission and the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund plays a pivotal role in scaling this model across regions. The future of poultry farming is locally led, globally connected, with a focus on entrepreneurship, sustainability, and inclusive growth. #PoultryFarming #SustainableAgriculture #BackyardPoultry #Innovation #RuralDevelopment #WomenEmpowerment #ClimateResilience #FarmingCommunity #BYPModel Transform Rural India Heifer International Passing Gifts Grameen Foundation India The Agri-Entrepreneur Growth Foundation (AEGF) Syngenta Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture FICCI Development Intelligence Unit Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH

We're dedicated to enhancing food security and improving the prosperity of smallholder farmers. Alongside our on-ground efforts and innovations, policy advocacy plays a crucial role in shaping the future of agriculture. Our Managing Director, Mr. Hemant Gaur, recently participated in a meeting jointly organized by Transform Rural India and the Forum of Enterprises for Equitable Development (FEED). We discussed the ongoing catalytic shifts in India's potato value chain ecosystem and their potential impact on millions of potato farmers in across India and specially in Uttar Pradesh. With climate change and shifts in traditional potato cultivation areas, driven by the rapid growth of processing capacities, Uttar Pradesh faces both challenges and opportunities. We need both mitigating measures and adaptive measures to contain impact of challenges while leveraging on opportunities to ensure holistic development of potato ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh as well as across India

As I sit here in my small farm in Uttar Pradesh, I can’t help but feel a sense of hope and empowerment after attending the recent convening on potato organized by Forum of Enterprises for Equitable Development (FEED) & Transform Rural India. For years, we’ve been silently battling challenges in potato cultivation that seemed insurmountable, but for the first time, our voices were heard, and our struggles acknowledged. The journey to the potato convening was filled with anticipation. Never before had I, a simple woman farmer, been invited to discuss with scientists, company representatives, government officials and leaders from potato industry. As I entered the room, I was nervous, but the warm smiles of other delegates put me at ease.
