Quantum Light aims to revolutionize the world of pigments by creating colours, coatings, pigments, dyes and inks that harness the incredible optical qualities of quantum dots. Quantum dots are small particles of crystalline semiconductors, typically core/shell structures that exhibit a property known as quantum confinement. The tremendous quantum yield they exhibit makes Quantum Pigments the next chapter in the history of pigments.

"Quantum physics is probably the most beautiful mathematical theory humanity ever invented and it's also the best proven." Physics laureate Anton Zeilinger believes that to be a successful scientist one needs to be being playful, curious and follow the feeling of excitement rather than being career-focused when making decisions. He followed his curiosity to India where he discussed the possibilities of interesting parallels between eastern philosophy and quantum mechanics with the Dalai Lama, who he describes as having a scientific mind. Zeilinger plans to spend the rest of his life working on unanswered questions about the role of information versus reality in regards to quantum physics, patiently waiting for a breakthrough. It was wonderful to share our future vision for AR, VR and contextual AI alongside the stories of the early days of quantum dots and the big reveal of a QD-EL ink jet printed high resolution display from TCL!
