Spooky costumes at the office last week! R-410A, a refrigerant with a *scarily* high Global Warming Potential, and a dead furnace, risen from the Quilt furnace graveyard. 👻

Did you catch Quilt at TechCrunch Disrupt today? Paul joined Tim, Gurinder, and Brigid on the Builder’s Stage this afternoon to talk about how to launch a new product against entrenched incumbents. One audience member asked about balancing climate impact and returns. “The way we’re going to achieve impact is by selling millions of heat pumps, and the way that we’re going to build a multigenerational business that VCs are excited about is to sell millions of heat pumps. It’s key to get that alignment,” answered Paul. Thanks for having us, TechCrunch! Catch the full panel conversation here: https://lnkd.in/e2NRymnz

The “home of the future” is about choice and self-expression. Technology’s role is to make that vision as sustainable, beautiful, and comfortable as possible. Quilt and Impulse both build systems that move homes off fossil fuels and are an upgrade in every way. Impulse makes first of their kind home appliances featuring integrated batteries; their first product — the Impulse Cooktop — is the most powerful and precise stove ever made. Whether you dream of precision cooking or a home that offers more control, comfort, and efficiency than ever before, Quilt and Impulse are here to make it happen. The real question is: How do you want to live in your future home? However you answer, we’re ready to help you build it today – and well into tomorrow. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gKS4X7dA

Quilt will be at TechCrunch Disrupt next week, with our co-founder Paul Lambert joining a panel discussion on "How to Launch a New Product Against Entrenched Incumbents," alongside Tim De Chant, Gurinder Nagra, and Brigid O'Brien. If you’re around, please say hi! You might get one of Quilt’s famous heat pump dad caps.

Eichlers and Quilt are a match made in design heaven. Mid-century modern spaces have a timeless appeal, but their heating and (lack of) cooling systems often require complete overhauls. These beautiful layouts often boast open floor plans, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and no basement or attic in sight. Because of these unique elements, not just any old HVAC system will do. Mini-split systems offer “the flexibility to be able to work in different spaces and different temperatures," says John Klopf, licensed architect and founding principal of Klopf Architecture. "Especially with an older home that hasn't been renovated, you'll have a situation where the west side of the room heats up fast, where the east side does not. If you can adjust [just one of those rooms], it's more targeted, more efficient, easier to use." Find out more about why mini-split systems like Quilt are the perfect upgrade for Eichler homes: https://lnkd.in/gJuN-HTD

Every single Quilter is here because we want to pass on a better world to future generations. Moving humanity off fossil fuels is certainly not an easy mission; it requires us to be bravely ambitious and work incredibly hard. But we also don’t do it alone. We're sending 🫶 to the many beta testers, partners, customers, and heat pump advocates who are part of our early community. We’re so grateful and humbled to be a part of your electrification journey. ⚡️

The rebates are here, but the awareness is not. Quilt’s research shows that though 96% of California homeowners qualify for heat pump rebates, only 31% recall ever seeing information about them. For example, San Mateo County homeowners can access up to $7,000 in heat pump rebates, yet many still don't know this. Across California, the rebate landscape is vast but underutilized, with huge variations by county (see graph). It’s time to create tools and programs that raise awareness and help homeowners unlock these savings. For example, Quilt’s new rebate calculator (quilt.com/rebates) aggregates every incentive you’re eligible for and takes them all off the price at checkout. How else can we increase awareness? Quilt now finds you every rebate you’re eligible for and gets you the savings instantly and upfront. There’s never been a better time to upgrade to a heat pump in California. Rebates are brilliant incentives for homeowners, but the application processes, fine print, and bureaucracy are a headache. We partnered with Rock Rabbit (the “TurboTax of heat pump rebates,” per founder Aimee Gotway Bailey, PhD) to do it all for you. We surface the applicable incentives, handle all the paperwork, and apply everything upfront so you never have to wait for a check in the mail. Learn more about heat pump rebates, the specific types you can redeem in the Bay Area, and Quilt’s seamless process in our most recent story: https://lnkd.in/gc_-9hp6
