This week we are celebrating #internationalsafetyweek. Sharing our tips, hints and safe practice working. Our 12 Golden Rules provide a guideline of do's and don'ts within safety and within our business. Health & Safety is the highest priority for the business, it keeps ourselves and each other safe as well as our customers and clients. To be a safe business we all need to do our part. Safety awareness and practice is an everyday activity but awareness weeks and days are a great reminder for us all. #safetyfirst

What a month, three of our team have won awards in our #employeeexcellence scheme. Fatemeh for supporting a vulnerable customer and her amazing feedback she has received from our clients. Sean has helped one our clients during a power outage and went above by providing bespoke training to the team to help in any future incidents. Alex recently took on a new task within his role and helped to train one of his colleagues. The feedback he received was fantastic and well deserved. Today, 10th October, is #WorldMentalHealthDay, a time to come together and talk about Mental Health and show everyone that Mental Health Matters. This year’s theme set by the World Federation of Mental Health is, “it’s time to prioritise mental health in the workplace”. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organisations, and communities. For us Mental Health awareness and support is something we do every day, but days like this enable to look back on why it is important and look at how we can do more for the future. Did you know that in QWEST we have invested just over £304,000.00 in wellbeing activities since 2015, these have included Mental Health training, office gym, therapies (massages, reflexology etc.. and fresh fruit to our offices). Internally within Qwest there is a 24/7 confidential Employee Assistance Program. Offering support from mental health, managing money and much more. We also have a team of Mental Health First Aiders and Champions who are there to support their colleagues and provide a signposting service to professionals, we have their details on display across our offices and online. Two of the newly trained MHFA have commented on their motivation to do the training. One hashtag #charity we use regularly for training and support is Workplace Mental Health Charter ™ UK.
