Residents will be able to: 👉 Access comprehensive online tools, information and support to help at each stage of your caring journey 👉 Navigate financial support that may be available to carers. Get quick and easy answers using the Carers Allowance, Carers Credit or Blue Badge Checkers 👉 Join online cuppa sessions with others also caring 👉 One-to-one support calls with a trained coach.   • Today, 27 January we remember the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Bosnia. This evening, Cheshire West and Chester is taking part in the 'Light The Darkness' national moment for Holocaust Memorial Day 2025. The Town Hall, Eastgate Clock in Chester, Wyvern House and Ellesmere Port library will be illuminated in purple from dawn in solidarity.

  • We are pleased to announce the launch of our new service, Better Together for Carers and Older People. On behalf of Cheshire West and Chester Council, Cheshire and Warrington Carers Trust has partnered with Snow Angels and OPAL to deliver our new carer and older people service, Better Together for Carers and Older People. Through a single point of access, Better Together will support residents to access information, advice and support with connecting to local community resources, provide specialist support to carers including access to carer breaks and financial assistance and support with hospital discharges. For unpaid carers, the service offers information, advice, training and guidance on finances, carer rights, caring related roles and responsibilities. Better Together offers 1:1, peer group support and facilitate social group and events. OPAL will deliver community led support for older people by informing and connecting Cheshire West and Chester residents to community resources & services. Hospital to Home service delivered by Snow Angels will support with hospital discharge and aim to prevent delayed discharges by helping adults’ return safely back to their homes with the necessary support. Come and meet the team and learn more about the service by attending the Better Together formal launch event which will take place on 29th January 1-3pm at 👉 Northwich Brio Leisure Centre, CW9 5QJ.
