  • For women with dense breast tissue, Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) serves as an excellent additional screening tool. Research indicates that ultrasound screening significantly enhances the detection of smaller, early-stage cancers, often before they reach the lymph nodes. These findings show that combining mammography with automated whole breast ultrasound screening can effectively double the breast cancer detection rate. • The brain is highly adaptable and capable of changing throughout life. This ability is known as neuroplasticity, and it allows the brain to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections. A good example of neuroplasticity is learning a new language. When someone is learning a new language, the neurons responsible for language acquisition will develop synapses. Imaging scans like PET/CT are used to monitor brain health by locating and diagnosing health conditions and tumors.

  • PET/CT scans are a cutting-edge imaging technique that combines two powerful technologies: positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT). This combo provides detailed information about the function and structure of organs and tissues in your body. Here's why PET/CT scans are awesome: 1️⃣ Comprehensive Insight: PET shows how your tissues and organ function on a cellular level, while CT provides detailed anatomical images. 2️⃣ Cancer Detection: PET/CT scans are particularly useful in cancer diagnosis and staging, helping doctors pinpoint tumors and assess if they have spread. 3️⃣ Personalized Treatment: By accurately mapping disease activity, PET/CT scans aid in planning personalized treatment strategies. 4️⃣ Quick and Painless: The procedure is generally quick and painless, with minimal preparation required. Screening mammography is a tool used to detect early breast cancer in otherwise asymptomatic women. Diagnostic mammography is used to evaluate a patient with abnormal clinical findings such as a breast lump, breast pain, or nipple discharge. Diagnostic mammography may also be needed if an area of concern is identified on a screening mammogram. To learn more about our breast imaging services, or to set up a consult, please call (863) 688-2334
