With the first week of #COP16 in the books, we're proud of the dedication and impact of our team, who engaged in essential discussions with partner organizations, development banks, and national governments. Here are the highlights: 🌳 Central to the week’s agenda was financing for forest and biodiversity protection. In several panels, we explored pioneering solutions like biodiversity credits and a groundbreaking billion-dollar initiative aimed at incentivizing the conservation and restoration of tropical forests. 🌳 Our team also met with key members of our alliance, including IDB, WWF, the Indigenous Peoples Foundation, and Procter & Gamble, where we shared updates on our Forest Allies initiative—a community of practice uniting the private sector, regional civil society, and forest communities across Colombia, Peru, Indonesia, Guatemala, and Cameroon to combat deforestation and promote the responsible management of tropical forests worldwide. 🌳 We also spotlighted our One Amazon strategy, emphasizing the need for collective action in the Amazon rainforest. This approach is designed to unite stakeholders across sectors to create lasting benefits for both the forest and the communities that depend on it. Our week culminated in a valuable meeting with Colombia’s Deputy Minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development, Mauricio Cabrera, reinforcing our commitment to strategies that safeguard vital ecosystems for future generations.
