Raise is the newest iteration of the Ian Martin Group—a leading staffing firm that’s been connecting people in meaningful work for 65 years. With more than 9,000 placements in 2021 and a contractor success rating of 98.8%, we’re raising expectations for recruitment from Toronto to Houston. Today, Raise is branching out to engage even more exceptional candidates and provide them with diverse and meaningful job opportunities across North America—in addition to our traditional business in technical fields, we’re expanding our openings to include jobs in healthcare, customer service, and mental healthcare, to name some. As we continue to grow, we understand our responsibility to help others grow with us. That’s why we donate 10% of our profits to charities that are breaking down barriers to employment for marginalized and disenfranchised job seekers.     Every year we donate 10% of our profits to charities through our Meaningful Work Foundation -because we want to join hands and make a bigger impact in breaking down barriers to employment for all people.     This year, we are thrilled to work with Focus Forward For Indigenous Youth.     “Our current system and providers are working great. Why are you trying to fix something that’s not broken?”  This is a question our clients get asked by their internal stakeholders before and during direct sourcing implementations. In our experience, having a specific and data-centric answer (as opposed to a generic response) goes a long way in obtaining buy-in. Here are also a few things that can help:  * Understand who your current providers are  * Know what your current vendor community looks like  * Identify which vendors are preferred and which are not  * Obtain data on how the current vendors are performing   Having a solid understanding of your current program will help your team get clear about the impact direct sourcing can bring, and will also build internal stakeholder buy-in early in implementation.     For B-corp day in Canada this year, we participated in virtual and in-person activities. In particular, we * Removed invasive buckthorns, making the Oakville neighborhood greener and healthier.  * Cleaned up the vegetable beds at Blueberry Fields, a community garden in Oakville that feeds families who are sponsored by Home Suite Hope Shared Living Corp.   * Prepared lunch for 400 people at The Mustard Seed NV, a charity that helps feed and house individuals and families. * Helped build and repurpose furniture at Furniture Bank.  Check out our happy volunteers in action! 📸 #stewardship #abetterworldthroughwork #bcorp
