“Our current system and providers are working great. Why are you trying to fix something that’s not broken?”  This is a question our clients get asked by their internal stakeholders before and during direct sourcing implementations. In our experience, having a specific and data-centric answer (as opposed to a generic response) goes a long way in obtaining buy-in. Here are also a few things that can help:  * Understand who your current providers are  * Know what your current vendor community looks like  * Identify which vendors are preferred and which are not  * Obtain data on how the current vendors are performing   Having a solid understanding of your current program will help your team get clear about the impact direct sourcing can bring, and will also build internal stakeholder buy-in early in implementation.
