As the discussion of women's rights continues to amp up, we at RAMPD want to be sure women with disabilities are and remain a part of the discussion - from our fierce leadership at RAMPD to our partners to our vibrant, dynamic professional membership. Through the generosity of Loreen Arbus, RAMPD was honored to creating a fund to support and promote women in music with disabilities this year. A huge thank you to the Loreen Arbus Foundation, and to the amazing women-identifying music professionals with disabilities, neurodivergence and chronic conditions kicking butt! "I support RAMPD because they advocate for an inclusive view of disability...When RAMPD partnered with the GRAMMYs to make music’s biggest night more disability-inclusive, it showed a real commitment to change" - Loreen Arbus #womeninmusic #womenempowerment #disability #representationmatters

It was so exciting to share my raw thoughts with Tiffany A. Yu, MSc for her Diversability® Amplified podcast! It's been a singular honor connecting and learning with the RAMPD community, which has sparked my own journey of Disability Identity and disclosure. Neurodiversity and mental health disabilities are still widely seen as professionally disqualifying, which will never change until we start sharing our stories and facing the stigmas directly. Is it the right move, career-wise, to discuss these topics so openly? No idea. But it's the right move for the world I want to leave in my wake, and that's good enough for now.

The secret behind RAMPD's rapid growth? The glue holding down the fort, our small but mighty RAMPD staff all proudly identify as a disabled, neurodivergent professional. We work diligently to support our active membership, seek out career, network and development opportunities for our community and to secure and carryout our industry facing programs and partnerships. "We're penetrating the highly competitive music industry in a way no one's been able to before us. Because we /are/ the music industry. We are a disability-led, centered, forward-focused professional community, shifting OUR narrative from pity to gritty, from confined to confident, and from trope to trend." - Lachi ♫, Founder/CEO "It's been a unique honor to connect with and support such amazing talent through RAMPD. I look forward to our continued measurable impact on the music industry." - Arthur Gwynne, Operations "I love collaborating with membership and staff to celebrate Disability Culture in everything we do at RAMPD." - Anya Cherneff, MA, Programs "As RAMPD continues to grow into a major force for diversity and inclusivity in the music industry, I’m grateful to be part of this journey and hope to expand my contributions alongside our success." - Salvador Lopez Lorenzo, Content #MusicIndustry #RepresentationMatters #Disability

It was a great honor to run a RAMPD panel for Music Managers Forum-US (MMF-US)-US! Jai Yoko, Nancy Grim Kells and Shelly Hartman explored how neurodiversity impacts both the management and artist experiences, and the additional challenges neurodivergent folk face in the industry. All the love goes to Sharon Tapper for inviting us to share our experiences with their community. I personally thought the most compelling point is how when we lean in on areas that are more challenging for us, such as attention or energy deficits, we end up building such a strong infrastructure of skills and tools that matches or even EXCEEDS neurotypical folk. I know for me and my ADHD, I live and die by my calendar, and use tools like GSuite, Calendly, my Alexa yelling out my calendar all the time, etc. I can take a dozen Zooms a day no sweat if they're scheduled ahead of time, but I still can't call in a restaurant order by myself or answer an unscheduled phone call, haha.

At 8 years old, Lachi ♫ noticed a lack of representation of people with disabilities in the music field. She created RAMPD to amplify + strengthen the community of recording artists + music professionals with disabilities. “When people think ‘Disability,’ they often have misconceptions of trauma or tragedy due to tropes reinforced in the media. RAMPD is working to change the way disabilities are viewed and to instill pride in one’s natural body-mind.” #DisabilityAwarenessMonth #ChannelKindness #BeKind365 Visit https://lnkd.in/dTPPfkgU to explore our full interview with RAMPD members, discover more about their work, and find ways to take kind action!

Earlier this week, RAMPD proudly attended the GRAMMYs New York Chapter New Member Celebration. It was an honor to see several RAMPD members representing Disability Culture at this significant event in the Music Industry. It's wonderful for new Recording Academy members to see the diverse and inclusive face of the academy! Images description: first picture shows Jenniffer and Rivky in front of a RAMPD booth table. Such an amazing night last night! RAMPD and Live Nation Entertainment came together for a celebration of ADA Day and a discussion on Disability Identity and Culture in the venue and touring industry. Jon Bell and Chantel Diaz had a wonderful fireside chat with Lachi ♫ , moderated by Shelly Hartman , my biggest take away was how disability inclusion doesn't end with just venue access, it should focus on treating fans, staff and performers with dignity and autonomy. And so many RAMPD Pro members under one roof!

Honored to be a 2024 ADCOLOR nominee for the 'Innovator' Award! ADCOLOR is the prestigious community of diverse visionaries in media, tech and creative industries. And the prestigious ADCOLOR Conference and Awards serve as the premiere gathering honoring, amplifying and celebrating creative pioneers, leaders and projects. For our work bringing voice to disability inclusion within the music industry and other facets of pop culture through RAMPD, board service and the tons of awesome things we get up to, I find myself privileged to be on the nominee ticket. Making disability dope and relevant in a superficial world hellbent on perfection is not an easy feat, but we take it head-on with passion and grace. However, I say 'we' because I would never have been able to get where I am without the amazing people I work with. So a huge shoutout to Arthur Gwynne, Kylie Miller, Stacey D. Barker and Joe Gooch at Team Lachi, Anya Cherneff, MA, Precious Perez and Salvador Lopez Lorenzo at Team RAMPD, Rhea Ghosh, Sharon Tapper and all who've supported me at the GRAMMYs, Day Al-Mohamed for tossing me a series regular opportunity, and folks like Laura Lee Mattingly, Alysyn Reinhardt and Tim Vandehey for saying, 'your words matter and people should hear them'! And extended shout out to Gabi Kochlani, Beth Narducci, Camila Kann, Maria Gironas and so many others... Thanks to all yall for your super hard and impactful work, and thanks to ADCOLOR for noticing ;) [Image: Lachi poses with a faux fur coat on an orange flyer with text Adcolor Nominee] #RepresentationMatters #AdColor cc: Tiffany R.
