All schools, offices and departments in the Rankin County School District (RCSD) will be closed Thursday, September 12, 2024, due to the anticipated severe weather conditions resulting from Hurricane Francine. The Governor has declared a State of Emergency and this will be excused as an inclement weather day. All extracurricular activities, practices, and Frontiers are also canceled. RCSD would like to thank the National Weather Service, Rankin County Emergency Operations Center, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, and the Rankin County Road Department for their partnership and support when making decisions that impact the safety of our students and staff.
