📢 Calling All Advocates for Sustainable Farming and Food Security! 📢 WE NEED YOUR VOICE. We've been been working on the Circular Solutions for Resilient Farms (CSRF) Initiative (https://hubs.la/Q03cxb9B0), an innovative program funded by the USDA’s Climate Smart Commodities Grant. By partnering with 16 small and underserved farms across the U.S., we're working on improving soil health, strengthening farm resilience, and promoting circular agricultural practices - key elements for a food secure future. ❗The Challenge❗ Funding for this initiative was frozen on January 20, as the USDA navigates the current governmental changes. We aren't the only ones. 141 other projects across the country under this program are also being affected, therefore potentially impacting food security in the US. Expenses incurred by farmers and some projects are at risk of not being reimbursed. This puts not only our work but the livelihoods of small farms across the country at serious risk. 🚨 How You Can Help 🚨 Taking action is quick but powerful. Here’s how you can make a difference: 🔹 1. Find Your Representatives Go to https://hubs.la/Q03cxfx10 and enter your ZIP code to locate your Representative and Senators. Click "Write To Them" 🔹 2. Click "Write to Them" You may use the pre-drafted write up below. Feel free to amend wherever you see fit. 👉 "Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I’m a constituent from [Your City, State]. I urge you, as our elected representative, to advocate for the reinstatement of USDA grant funding for the Climate Smart Commodities program. This initiative supports a range of projects which will ensure food security across the country. By shutting down this program, thousands of farms and companies will be affected, therefore creating insurmountable instability in this country. Please honor these contracts. Thank you!" 🔹 3. Spread the Word Share this message far and wide! Encourage friends, family, and colleagues to take action. Every call, email, and post helps put pressure on decision-makers. 💬 If you hear back from your Representative or Senator, let us know! We need to hold them accountable. You can also email them or use their website contact form to send a similar message. Tag them on social media and publicly share your concern. Thank you for standing with us in support of resilient, sustainable farming. This fight matters—and so does your voice. 🙌 Together with Chapul Farms, IPM Institute of North America, Fresh Future Consulting, @Everett Codd, and Highland Economics LLC, we're committed in supporting our farms and getting healthy food out to our communities. #SustainableAgriculture #FarmResilience #USDA #CircularSolutions #PolicyAction #SupportSmallFarms #foodsecurity

Through our USDA-funded Circular Solutions for Resilient Farms initiative, we’re using innovative insect farming technology to turn organic waste into insect frass—a nutrient-packed soil amendment that helps farms thrive. Here’s how frass makes a difference: 💧 Improves Water Retention Increases soil’s water-holding capacity by up to 7%, reducing irrigation needs and building resilience to drought. 🌍 Drives Carbon Capture Helps sequester carbon in the soil, contributing to the fight against climate change while improving soil health. 🌱 Enhances Soil Biodiversity Rich in beneficial microbes, frass improves soil structure, promotes biological activity, and creates a thriving underground ecosystem. 🪴 Boosts Plant Productivity Natural compounds in frass stimulate plant growth, promoting stronger, healthier crops with higher yields. 🛡️ Builds Soil Resilience Protects against erosion, nutrient depletion, and soil degradation, ensuring farmland stays productive for generations. 🌿 Fosters Plant Health Enhances plant immune systems, making crops more resistant to diseases and pests for better overall health. By incorporating frass into our partner farms, we’re improving soil health, boosting productivity, and advancing sustainable agriculture.
