About us
Ready Region Blue Ridge is one of nine regions across Virginia tasked with deploying Virginia Department of Education and Virginia Early Childhood Foundation priorities, program and resources. RRBR is led by the United Way of Greater Charlottesville. The vision: all children in Virginia have equitable access to high-quality early education. Ready Regions helps every Virginia community: •Be accountable. Virginia’s early education system must prepare children for success. •Be welcoming. Families must be engaged in designing a system that works for them. •Be responsive. Parents must be able to access the child care they want and need. •Be stable. Early education programs need consistent supports to deliver quality services. •Be bold. Every community in Virginia should be a place where families can thrive.

We recently attended ACPS's event providing activities and resources targeting math, literacy, and social-emotional development for families. 📚✏️ We enjoyed providing more information to families about what services and supports are available to foster their children’s development and wellness. And of course we are always thrilled any time we get to make connections with our fellow community members! 🌈 Thanks to all who stopped by our table at the event!

Happy birthday to Nicole, one of our Senior Early Education Specialists! 🥳 Nicole works with families participating in the Early Learner Scholarships program, which helps many parents and guardians find quality childcare coverage for their children that may not have been accessible otherwise. Nicole has been an amazing asset to our team, and we are lucky to have her! She is also a big fan of travel and exploring our local food and wine scene! Please join us in wishing Nicole a very happy birthday! 🎂

Early childhood educators from the Northern Shenandoah Valley recently partook in a "brain architecture game" highlighting why school and family interactions from birth to five years old are so important in a child's life. Educators like these met all over Ready Region Blue Ridge to learn how they can best support our youngest learners, while also helping carry out the states mission in increasing access to quality education for all families.
