It’s been 60 years since New York City passed the Landmarks Law—but how exactly does a building become a landmark? And why does it matter? In this episode, we sit down with Meenakshi Srinivasan, former Chair of the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission, to explore the process behind landmark designation—how buildings earn protection, who decides, and what it all means for a city constantly evolving. From iconic facades to hidden neighborhood gems, we’re digging into how preservation helps shape New York’s future while honoring its past. Listen now to learn how landmarking works—and why NYC could look very different today if it weren’t for these protections. 🔗 Apple: https://lnkd.in/e_eZCzNJ 🔗 Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eS7V5QiD
