The inside reads: "I've spent many years, At the USPS. I've delivered your mail, And I gave it my best. I've delivered through storms, And bright sunny days, But now is the time, For me to part ways. The friends I have made, Are countless, I'm sure, And many of you, I'll always adore, But the time has come now, For me to retire, I want to live life, Before I expire. Live from New York... it's SnooSec! 🗽 SnooSec, a quarterly community meetup series focused on Security and Privacy and hosted by Reddit's SPACE (Security, Privacy, Assurance, Corporate Engineering) organization, returned to NYC last night. We had nearly 60 folks in attendance for a night full of learning and networking. Antoinette S., Staff Security Engineer at Ramp, kicked things off with "How Ramp Fights Credential Stuffing." Next, our own Pratik Lotia presented "Runtime Security Visibility: From Past Lessons to Future Frontiers." And finally, Russell Spitler, Co-Founder of Nudge Security, shared "Threat Detection Using Email as an Event Source." Our next event is scheduled for Thursday, May 22nd in San Francisco. 💚 I'm very fortunate to lead a large remote-first team of great Android engineers who love their craft and the Reddit platform. They work exceptionally well together while operating from time zones from Germany to California. Once in a while it's important to get together in person for some face-to-face time and team-building and when we do, I like to make sure there's some memorable swag involved somehow. Here's this year's attempt - I was going for "Awk nerdy care bear vibes", Wdyt? 💫 Thanks to Gemini for the awkward hugging Snoo + Bugdroid rendition I could work with for the patch design. 😎 Thanks to the unnamed person who bulk ordered me stuffies with their Googler discount from the merch shop without any question. You can still find them there! 🏆 But most importantly thanks to the R4A team for all your hard work this past year! P.S. We're hiring Android engineers. Check out the Reddit careers page and apply to the roles that speak to you! #mobile #android #teambuilding #onsite #reddit #platform #hiring

Whew, we're still riding high from Snoosweek! Last week was our biannual hackathon where Snoos take a break from their usual work and tackle a new project aimed at making Reddit better, both internally and externally. The exploration during this week often culminates in tangible improvements for our users and employees; for example: - Comment Search, the ability to search within the comment section - Reddit Recap, end of year product that wraps up your year on Reddit - Community anniversaries, product element that shows when a sub was created - Badger, an internal tool that visualizes reporting structures - Native smart cropping for ad creatives - Link previews in Reddit chat - Plus many more! And this year we introduced a new award—The Devvinici—for the best application of our Developer Platform. Upvotes to our participants, judges, and winners for making this a Snoosweek to remember. 💫

After almost 20 years, Reddit has become a living archive capturing every aspect of humanity—from the curious and silly (hi, r/DivorcedBirds 👋 ) to the painful and transformative. The breadth and depth of the human experience is complex, and our communities are no different. Reddit is about the people—not the platform—and it turns out people are capable of pretty incredible things.
