Reinventing Your City
About us
Redevelopment Management Associates (RMA) was formed in 2009, bringing together a phenomenal team of redevelopment experts passionate about building better communities. We don’t just draft plans, we implement them. RMA is the most experienced full service consulting and management firm in the state of Florida specializing in revitalizing core areas and corridors for cities, counties, and special districts nationwide. In 2009, Kim and Chris recognized that all too often cities try but can’t get redevelopment efforts off the ground. They draft plans that either sit on shelves or don’t produce the results promised by their consultants. We truly believe the goal of redeveloping an area will only succeed if a consulting firm can accurately identify what is inhibiting good growth. After more than 50 years of combined experience in the redevelopment arena, we are able to do just that. Our “In-house” team consists of a wide variety of skill sets that together, produce results that are unmatched by a single purpose firm. We have architects, urban designers, planners, economic developers, real estate and marketing professionals, and financial analysts. Cities need all of those professionals to create a successful redevelopment platform. We also recognized that while consultants draft plans for cities, rarely do they implement them. Our careers started off in the field, writing then implementing redevelopment plans and living the day-to-day struggle of creating change. We truly do know what works and what doesn’t. Our clients can feel the passion in our team members because when they are at work, they know they are impacting many lives in a positive way. There is nothing more rewarding than helping a business open its doors, or seeing a city commissioner or mayor succeed at building a better life for their citizens.

The Annual RMA Retreat always features an informative presentation by attorney Claudia McKenna. Sunshine, Lollipops and Roses is a fun name for this very important continuing education program which keeps our team well-versed about Florida's Sunshine Laws, so we can maintain the utmost integrity while consulting with local municipalities in the state. #retreat #continuingeducation #sunshinelaws #Florida #government #municipalities #economicdevelopment #redevelopment

RMA was honored to participate in the Grand Opening event of Mayla Pompano with @KimBriesemeister joining leadership from Broward County and the City of Pompano Beach, along with the developers, Grover Corlew, for the ribbon cutting ceremony. Mayla Pompano marks a significant milestone in Pompano Beach's redevelopment. Strategically situation between US 1 and the Intracoastal, this luxury residential community is a testament to the visionary leadership of the City and its CRA. This once overlooked area is now thriving thanks to the Grand Opening of the first market rate rental project within the East CRA District boundaries. Mayla Pompano is adjacent to two Grover Corlew owned and managed Class A office complexes, a commercial mixed-use project currently undergoing a $25 million dollar redevelopment, which includes exterior and office renovations and the addition of ground floor retail, restaurants and plaza areas to complement the Mayla Pompano lifestyle-oriented community. Enabled by the East CRA District's strategic use of tax increment financing, Mayla Pompano is poised to not only revitalize the neighborhood but also contribute substantially to the local economy. It is estimated the project will generate tax increment of $944,577 in year one (1) and cumulatively generate $19,022,918 in year twenty (20). #pompanobeach #redevelopment #economicdevelopment #luxuryresidential #newdevelopment

In a recent piece in the Palm Beach Post about Delray Beach, the economic development leadership of Chris Brown (RMA's co-founder) was cited as one of the best examples for urban experts to study, as he lead the transformation of the city from a 'dangerous and dirty town' to the thriving community it is today. “They saw what was needed to get this area to grow and flourish: a safe environment with new and clean restaurants, a variety of activities that would bring lots of people downtown and create a new source of revenue to help sustain and rebuild the area. The city hired Chris Brown to take on this task. Mr. Brown worked with our city’s mayors for many years as the director of the CRA. Thirty-five years later, Atlantic Avenue is studied by other urban experts as one of the best examples of how to turn a dilapidated old urban setting into something special.” Below the article which lays out why historic designation is not something Delray Beach should consider https://lnkd.in/gHJxbUym #DelrayBeach #economicdevelopment #redevelopment #cities #managment #businessattraction
