There's so much hidden potential for AI to bring the grid into the modern era. Tapestry, a project of X, the moonshot factory is doing incredible work on this. Great to see Eric Siegel dig into this topic in his latest piece for Forbes.
“This is a moon worth shooting for.” Forbes contributor Eric Siegel explores how the Tapestry team is using AI to not only bring the electric grid into the modern era, but also provide the insights and information it needs to support clean energy. “We’re delivering [grid operators] not only a painkiller, but also a vitamin,” Tapestry’s Page Crahan told Siegel in a recent conversation. For those who caught the Love is Blind season 7 premiere, how exciting is it to see a fellow #climate worker on screen?! Contestant Taylor Krause, a policy manager at RMI specializing in #hydrogen, is working on one of the key solutions to decarbonize heavy industry. With Love is Blind’s huge reach, we’re hoping Taylor gets some airtime to spotlight the #climatecrisis. Rare's Entertainment Lab studies how meeting people where they are, with even brief mentions of climate-conscious behaviors on screen, can help change perceptions of social norms and beliefs. Check out Yale Climate Connections' thoughts on the messages we’re hoping to hear from Taylor:

McKenna Dunbar mentioned this podcast at our #ClimateWeekNYC event last week, so check it out if you missed it! https://lnkd.in/gsk6JJck
Ali Zaidi recently shared on POLITICO Energy podcast, 'I think as a country right now, we are at the doorstep of this YIMBY moment,' indicating a significant shift in the national approach to climate action and economic development. I found that this specific quote encapsulates the nation’s evolving willingness to embrace clean energy projects, sustainable infrastructure, and a future-oriented economic model. Zaidi noted that over 85% of the grant dollars from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) have been awarded or are in competition, demonstrating a tangible commitment to translating policy into practice, particularly within agencies like the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of the Treasury. That figure is a strong indicator that climate policy is no longer confined to political rhetoric but is now driving substantial investments that are reshaping industries, creating jobs, and fostering innovation at an unprecedented pace. Yet, Zaidi also shed light on the potential headwinds facing this momentum, particularly the political efforts to rescind unspent IRA funding. This brings to the forefront a critical tension: how do we ensure that these climate-forward initiatives are safeguarded against political shifts? Such funding is not just a financial resource, it represents opportunities for communities—especially those historically marginalized or economically disadvantaged—to engage with and benefit from the transition to a clean energy economy. Halting or withdrawing these investments would not only stall progress but could also perpetuate existing inequalities, effectively widening the gap between those who can access the benefits of this transition and those who cannot. The idea of a 'doorstep,' as Zaidi suggests, can mean different things to different people. For some, it might signify a point of entry—a chance to finally participate in an economic and environmental transformation. For others, it could represent a threshold that, if crossed, leads to unprecedented growth and opportunity. In my view, this 'doorstep' represents a critical juncture where climate action, workforce integration, and equitable community engagement converge to create pathways toward an inclusive, sustainable future. It’s the moment where policies translate into tangible outcomes, where the abstract becomes accessible, and where communities are no longer passive recipients but active participants in this journey. How do you define this 'doorstep'? What does this moment represent for you in the context of climate action, economic development, or community engagement?
