On the frontlines of the climate crisis, Maasai clan leader Dalmas Tiampati invests in the future of his region and culture. Last week, the Maasai Center for Regenerative Pastoralism in Ejiado County, Kenya, celebrated a major milestone: the successful installation of a syntropic agroforest training garden full of nutritious superfood tree crops. Spearheaded by Dalmas Tiampati and trainer Roland van Reenen, this new demonstration farm will serve as a living regeneration classroom for local women and families—teaching them to cultivate nutrient-rich tree crops that thrive in arid climates and address malnutrition head-on. Watch a glimpse of our progress: https://lnkd.in/eukzc2u4 Why It Matters Building on Research & Community Partnerships: This Food Forest draws on research by Eric Toensmeier and the on-the-ground testing of Regenerative Farms (RF) to identify drought-hardy superfood trees. Empowering Women: Women gain practical skills in tree planting, soil and water conservation, and community leadership, opening new pathways for income and resilience. Ecological Restoration: The farm revitalizes dry, degraded land while safeguarding the Maasai Mara’s wildlife habitats. Thanks to a Jonas Philanthropies Trees for Climate Health grant (launched in 2023) and a generous contribution from the Woka Foundation, the Maasai community has made strides in preserving pastoralist traditions while adopting modern regenerative methods. Now, the next goal is to install an irrigation well and fund local women to maintain the farm, train more families, and extend the impact across Ejiado County. Every contribution invests directly in breaking the cycle of poverty, environmental degradation, and gender violence—especially for women and girls in one of the world’s most challenging regions. By supporting indigenous leaders like Dalmas Tiampati, you fuel locally driven, culturally relevant solutions that bring hope, resilience, and restored ecosystems. Join Us in Making a Difference By donating to Regenerative Farms, you help shape a future where every child has access to nutritious food and a safe, climate-resilient environment. Let’s stand with Dalmas and make an enduring change in a region battered by a decade of prolonged drought, ensuring local communities can grow stronger and protect their vital biodiversity. Some Good News: RF provided a Scholarship for Aaron Kalala Karumba to Attend ECHO East Africa Conference last month. We’re thrilled to share that Regenerative Farms awarded a scholarship to local Congolese leader Aaron Kalala Karumba so he could attend the ECHO East Africa conference in Burundi to tell his colleagues about our important work supporting women farmers together. Aaron is a dedicated permaculture trainer who has spent decades empowering women farmers in the conflict-plagued eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. By teaching critical techniques—like rainwater harvesting, planting superfood trees, and restoring soil health—he’s helping families as they improve their nutrition, protect endangered wildlife habitats, and adapt to the changing climate. Through Regenerative Farms’ support, Aaron had the opportunity to connect with global partners at ECHO East Africa, showcasing how locally led solutions can transform communities threatened by conflict, gender inequality, and environmental challenges. The next step? Finishing the APAA's new “Regeneration Hub” in the DRC to reach more women, plant more trees, and further stabilize local food systems. Want to learn more or get involved? Check out our news post here: https://lnkd.in/eiw-vsU3 Let’s stand together to uplift local leaders, empower women, and regenerate ecosystems in the Congo Basin—and beyond.https://https://lnkd.in/eiw-vsU3

  • **Regenerative Farms** has been awarded two **USDA Rural Business Development Grants**! We are thrilled to announce that **Regenerative Farms** has been awarded two **USDA Rural Business Development Grants**! These one year technical assistance grants will allow us to train rural farmers in **climate resilience and management skills for growing their rural farm business** in both **Kentucky** and **Hawaii**. 🌎🌱 Our mission is to empower farmers with the knowledge and tools to regenerate soils, restore ecosystems, and build climate-resilient food systems.
