To address a workforce gap in nursing homes, Debra Litzelman, M.D., M.A., from Regenstrief and the IU School of Medicine have developed an innovative curriculum for nursing students with the goal of interesting more of them in care for older adults. This study introduces a curriculum, one of the first to use virtual standardized patients, that can be used in healthcare provider training programs worldwide. He is one of 11 individuals nationwide selected for this prestigious mid-career program.
