In the just published September/October issue of The Maritime Executive, reporter Patrick Zeitler writes on Specialization of Skills in the marine salvage industry. “From the Francis Scott Key Bridge allision in Baltimore to Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping, it’s been a busy year for the industry. With the volume of shipboard fires and spill response both increasing, salvors that understand advanced shipboard firefighting, marine spill management and marine salvage require unique training and expertise,” Zeitler writes. The article calls out US COAST GUARD's work on a revitalized Area Contingency Plan that will bolster capacity for marine firefighting and salvage across all USCG COPT zones and the work of its SMFF task force to better prepare ports in the event of a maritime emergency. Our own CEO Joseph Farrell talks about specialized skills required and how Resolve Marine aims to “optimize training, mentoring and advancement opportunities for all employees.” Other salvors and marine specialty firms are also featured. https://ow.ly/zR8G50TUPZr #Salvage #MarineSalvage #SMFF

Just published! SUNY Broome Community College Alumni publication features an inspirational profile of Resolve Marine's Manager of Government Affairs, retired U.S. Navy Captain Gregg Baumann The magazine regularly features alumni to showcase career trajectories. Baumann studied Engineering Science at SUNY Broome, transferred and graduated from Clarkson University and then joined the US Navy's Officer Candidate School. As a junior officer, he was deployed around the world before pursuing a career as an Engineering Duty Officer specializing in Diving and Salvage. After earning an M.S. with a subspeciality in the Total Ships Systems Engineering program from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California USA – a unique program that blends mechanical engineering, naval architecture and naval design – Baumann was eventually named as Director of Ocean Engineering, Supervisor of Salvage and Diving (SUPSALV). Based in Washington D.C., he managed a team of 500 military, civil servants and subcontractors; he retired from the U.S. Navy in 2016. Resolve Marine recruited Baumann out of retirement in 2023 to lead our Government Relations efforts. He was a critical conduit with Unified Command supporting SUPSALV’s mandate to clear the Port of Baltimore’s Fort McHenry Federal Channel, following the M/V Dali’s collision into the Francis Scott Key Bridge Click https://ow.ly/iIxY50TUowT to read the full article.

Resolve Marine’s talented crews in Dutch Harbor, Alaska wear many hats. Here, the team gives an assist to a US COAST GUARD Cutter and a US Navy vessel making stops at the port. Boom and bunkering for waste removal take place all in a day’s work. Well done team! #DutchHarbor #Shipyard #drydock

The Port of Dutch Harbor in Unalaska, AK is the #1 commercial fishing port in the United States based on volume of catch. Among other work, Resolve Marine’s shipyard and drydock services dozens of commercial fishing fleets and vessels seeking repair and maintenance with work requests in June, September and October at their peak. Here, a fishing vessel was loaded for a drydock during a sale with a buyer who wanted to know the exact condition of the ship in order to direct repairs and upgrades. Over the course of five days, our team coordinated the transfer of the vessel from Carl E. Moses Boat Harbor to our facility by a third-party tug and our own Makushin Bay. Once in the drydock, teams cleaned the vessel from the waterline down so that UT measurements could be conducted by a third party. Once primed and painted, we then completed a drydock inspection and returned the vessel back to CEM’s dock. Congratulation to Eric Freemen, Shipyard Superintendent for overseeing a job well done by his crew of 15 hardworking men and women. #DutchHarbor #Shipyard #drydock

From Resolve Marine’s shipyard and drydock facility in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, Facility Manager Adam Buffington knows the importance of teamwork. He is also a fan of mentoring and leading by example. Each month he gathers the crew to share his appreciation for the team and takes a moment to reinforce the values of our company. This month, Adam called out Nathen Spencer for his contributions to team safety and gave a gift card in acknowledgement of his efforts. In one of the most remote areas of the United States, Dutch Harbor weathers 63 inches in average rainfall and 88 inches of snow. It’s a welcome break from the elements to enjoy a warm lunch and camaraderie. #DutchHarbor #Shipyard #drydock

Resolve Marine’s head of marketing and communication Jennifer Schlueter was recently at our Dutch Harbor facility for a video shoot. While we look forward to showcasing what we do at the shipyard and drydock in the coming months, Jennifer wanted to share a few pics from what she calls “one of the most beautiful places in the world.” Photos shared include an early morning visit from a young eagle on the Yahveh, our floating office facility (also pictured at dawn), a few glamour shots of the Makushin Bay, and Jennifer in the yard scouting the shoot before the video crew arrives. Thank you Eric Freeman, Shipyard Superintendent, Adam Buffington, Facility Manager and Yudelka Leclere, Office Manager for your warm welcome and hospitality. #ResolveMarine #DutchHarbor #Unalaska #MarineServices
