We are proud to release our 2024 "What Does the Data Say?" analysis of the applicants and selected GPs, presented at the 2024 RAISE Global Summit. This year 872 GPs ($36B AUM) applied to attend the RAISE Global Summit, of which 100 ($7.5B AUM, Avg. $73M AUM) were selected by our Limited Partner Selection Committee. TL:DR - The RAISE Select consistently outperformed the benchmarks for emerging VC. Funds are ↘ smaller, diversity 👩💻👨🏾💻👩🏿💻👨🏼💻👩🏾💻👨💻👨🏿💻👩🏼💻 matters and drives returns (86% of the RAISE Select have ≥ 1 woman or person of color on the investment team), AI / DeepTech / CleanTech 📈, FinTech 📉. LPs have a 🌎 view, with 11% of Selected GPs coming from LATAM, EMEA, and APAC. Revere had a great time hosting our fall industry drinks with BGV, in what is probably the nicest office courtyard in the Bay Area! As one of our early investors, we are grateful for the guidance and support of Eric Benhamou, Yashwanth Hemaraj, Jessica Hsieh and the entire BGV team. Sindre Østgård of Katapult Ocean, presented an economic case for a paradigm shift to regrowth. Ivonne Bojoh of Circle Economy, and Martijn Lopes Cardozo of Regeneration.VC, delved into the current and future state of global material flows. Allison Voss from World Economic Forum unveiled insights from 4 years of strategic research on the biodiversity landscape, and was joined by leading investors Tobias Seikel of Planet A Ventures, Jamie Rowles of Regeneration.VC, and Evi Steyer of Ponderosa Ventures. Cruz Foam CEO John Felts showed how it’s regenerative alternative to polystyrene can beat chemical alternatives and announced legendary Tom Chi of At One Ventures as new Executive Chairman. Colorifix's COO Christopher Hunter, Robert Carleke of Inter IKEA Ventures, and Pratibha Vuppuluri of Plum Alley, shed light on why textile dying is a priority investment area for Ikea. SmarterX’s CEO, Charlie Vallely, and Greyparrot's Ambarish Mitra sat down with G2 Venture Partners’ Ellie McDonald to discuss the Circular Economy through the lens of AI. Squared Circles CEO Osman Khan, Ghetto Gastro Founder Jon Gray and TULU Co-founder Yael Shemer covered their remarkable innovations and consumer trends. Adam Root, CEO/Founder of Matter., Sindre Østgård, Katapult Ocean, & Lewis E. Shuler II of Paradise Textiles/Alpine Group announced Matter's first of a kind approach in textile production. We featured leading LPs Frederik von Bennigsen of EIFO, Sofia Caycedo of Invest-NL, Jack Wielebinski of One Small Planet, and Hee S. Jung of SK, who explored the role of catalytic capital with Chris Shen of Revere. Lila Preston of Generation Investment Management, Clare Murray from Blume Equity, and Riddhima Yadav of Brookfield discussed the role of growth capital in scaling climate solutions with Patrick Temple-West of the Financial Times. The final plenary session saw Gunhild Anker Stordalen of EAT Foundation, Robyn O'Brien of Montcalm, and Michael Pellman Rowland of Baseline Wealth exploring our food system. This was followed by an engaging workshop led by Lucy Wallace of EIT Food. We announced our first Fund II investment, introducing Professor Jonathan Cullen and Spencer Brennan of Neutreeno, along with a brilliant syndicate of investors Danielle Joseph, Managing Director of Closed Loop Ventures, Jonathan Axelrod, General Partner of Remarkable Ventures, and Woraphot Kingkawkantong of Beacon, Kasikorn Bank CVC.
