UBM Pilot Launch Announcement: We are excited to announce our new partnership with the DC MOBILITY INNOVATION DISTRICT, Southwest Business Improvement District (SWBID) and Zipcar to launch the first-ever Universal Basic Mobility (UBM) Micro-Pilot in Washington, D.C. Convened and sponsored by Spin, this initiative provides fully subsidized public transportation options 🚇 🚌 🚲 🛴 🚗 to participants with the goal of better understanding cost barriers and travel choices for DC residents. Survey and interview data will be collected throughout the pilot period. This initial pilot will run through the end of the year and includes 15-20 participants from the Spin Access program and the DC MID network who are provided subsidized access to: - WMATA MetroRail and MetroBus 🚇 🚌 - Spin bikes and scooters 🚲 🛴 - Zipcar carsharing 🚗 - E-cargo bike rentals through the DC MID’s E-bike Library 📦 🚲 We strongly believe access to transportation should be a right, not a privilege. This micro-pilot represents a critical step in Spin’s mission to make mobility more inclusive and accessible, ensuring that everyone, regardless of income, has the freedom to safely move around their city. Micromobility is booming in Columbus, Ohio! We're so proud of Steven Needham and our local team for achieving record breaking ridership 🛴 in Columbus last week. Not only was Saturday our highest ridership day ever, but last week was our highest ridership week ever. We continue to be all in on Columbus, and are so grateful to our riders and city staff for their partnership.

One of the best decisions Spin has made in the past couple of years was to prioritize our investment and partnership with the City of Columbus, home to nearly 1m people as well as one of the largest universities in the country, The Ohio State University. That meant bringing our newest and safest e-scooter technology, growing our fleet, and investing in the training and development of our local W-2 operations team led by the one and only Steven Needham.  During the first half of 2024, we saw an amazing 35% growth in trips. Better yet, this increased ridership was enabled by double digit growth coming from Access Zones, which provide automatic discounts on trips beginning in historically disadvantaged areas. As a result, we've further expanded those Access Zones and we expect to see this growth continue. None of this would be possible without the collaboration and support from our city partners, as well as the residents, visitors, students and workers living in Columbus. To say thank you and to celebrate this collective impact, we're throwing a party at our local HQ and all are invited. We'll have food, music, free scooter rides (and promos), and good vibes 🤙 Hope you all can drop by and join us!

2024 has been an incredible year for #SharedMobility. As we look ahead, we’re excited to share a few important milestones on strengthening our city partnerships and achieving profitability: 🚀 🚀 Spin is thriving and consistently profitable, now and expected for the full year – a major achievement that puts us in our strongest financial position ever. We’re looking forward to refreshing our fleets of e-bikes and scooters along with further expansion into new markets as our core focus for 2025. 🌉 🏙 📈 We're thrilled to continue growing our presence in cities and universities across the country, including the City and County of San Francisco, City of Columbus, City of Dallas, City of Detroit, City of Durham, City of Baltimore, UC San Diego, University of California, Davis, and the City of Fort Myers. 🚲 🛴 > 🚗 💨 In the last year alone, our riders have traveled over 60 million miles globally, which equates to circling the earth more than 2,400 times and tens of millions of motor vehicle trips not taken. Together, these riders also helped prevent 12,240 metric tons of C02 emissions from entering the atmosphere! #Micromobility #SustainableTransportation #ElectricMobility #SmartCities #EcoFriendly #CityPartners #RideSpin

Congrats to the City of Baltimore and Baltimore City Department of Transportation on being a top 10 shared micromobility market in the US - with more than 1 million trips served in 2023! We are so proud to have contributed to the success of the program, with more than 850k trips on Spin scooters in 2023 alone. We kicked off 2024 by bringing our brand new scooters and bikes, and offering more low- and no-cost trips to income-eligible residents. Most importantly, we are thrilled to continue working with such an incredible partner in BCDOT to empower residents to move around sustainably and affordably.

The National Association of City Transportation Officials has released its Shared Micromobility in 2023 Snapshot, and Baltimore got a special mention! 40% of all 2023 dockless e-scooter trips took place in just 10 cities, with Baltimore being one of them with 1 million trips.
