CTA UPDATE: CAI’s pursuit of a preliminary injunction to postpone the deadline for POAs to comply with the Corporate Transparency Act has been denied. What does this mean for me as a board member? Subject to certain limited exceptions, this means that all POAs will continue to have to comply with the CTA and report their “beneficial owner” information. For POAs, beneficial owners are the board of directors. The deadline to file for POAs formed before January 1, 2024, remains January 1, 2025. POAs should work with their management companies and/or legal counsel to ensure the filing process is done correctly. For more details on what POAs and their board members are required to report, please click this link: https://lnkd.in/gCS6NKwR

Look over the skies of San Antonio. You’ll see distant views of the Texas Hill Country, wafts of smoke from fajitas on the grill and BBQ smoking at the various restaurants around town, but what you will not see is a signal calling on your neighborhood POA attorney to save the day in a community near you. However, San Antonio does have a local POA attorney ready to fight for the needs of the communities he serves, and he does not need an elaborate disguise or alter ego. His name is Paul Gaines. Members of the RMWBH team had a great time, last Friday, getting glammed up like classic Hollywood stars and celebrating the firm being named to the Houston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work list. RMWBH was honored at the HBJ’s annual luncheon where HR Director Sara Urias accepted the award on behalf of the firm. The firm was named to the list based on the results of an independent survey conducted by the HBJ of RMWBH employees. Thank you to our employees who make RMWBH the company that it is! We look forward to continuing as one of Houston’s best places to work for years to come.
I enjoyed the HBJ Best Places to Work luncheon today with eight of our amazing employees! We were ranked #20 for large companies in Houston! Thank you to our team for taking the survey. We were recognized by our employees as an employer that demonstrates a positive company culture and employee appreciation. It was a Classic Hollywood theme, and we definitely showed up and showed out! We look forward to continuing to be one of the best places to work. #hbjbptw #bestplacetowork Roberts Markel Weinberg Butler Hailey PC Houston Business Journal

Team RMWBH of Clint Brown and Cherie Wilson had a great time participating in Community Associations Institute (CAI) - Austin, TX Chapter’s annual cornhole tournament benefiting the CAI Texas Legislative Action Committee. This annual event is one of the four major fundraising events hosted by the Texas chapters of CAI to support lobbying and advocacy efforts on behalf of the POA industry in Austin and forward CAI’s mission to advance, defend, protect, and strengthen public policy for the community association housing model. It was great to see all of the participants and congratulations to the winners and cornhole champions of Austin!
