In 2022, the EPS industry recycling rate reached 31%, while plastic bottle recycling decreased to a rate of 27.8%, as reported by the Association of Plastics Recyclers in its 2022 U.S. Post-Consumer Plastic Recycling Data Dashboard. Thanks to increased community recycling access points and other initiatives, the EPS industry continues to develop opportunities for continued growth with innovative recycled content resins and collaborations with local municipalities to capture even more residential waste.
