Shannon has received two cornea transplants, one in her twenties and one as a mom of four boys. Because of her gifts of restored sight, Shannon doesn’t play small with life – she is grateful every day, says yes often, loves sports and discovering new things like MMA with her boys. Shannon and her son recently enjoyed being a part of #BroncosCountry and sharing her appreciation for eye tissue donors and their families with Denver Broncos Football Club. #RestoreSight #AmbassadorsofSight #DonateLife #SportsandSight #RMLEB

Jaime Tellez-Gonzalez who received a cornea transplant at the age of 7 shared his appreciation for the gift of sight with nurses at Boulder Community Health. He expressed appreciation for the work they do. The staff responded with thanks since they don’t often get to see or hear first-hand accounts of outcomes from their work to facilitate eye tissue donation. #RestoreSight #DonateLife #EyeBank #CorneaDonation #CorneaTransplant #CommunityImpact #transplantrecipient

We 💙 💚 this special story. Thanks to our friends at Donate Life America and AltruVision for sharing Mila's story. "We thought Mila would never see our faces. Now, she smiles at us and laughs at our funny faces! It was absolutely amazing to see her vision improve following her cornea transplant-it gave our family so much hope!" Thanks you to Mila's family for sharing these powerful words. A family forever changed and hope restored thanks to a selfless cornea donor.
At just 3 days old, Mila was diagnosed with Peters’ Anomaly, a rare congenital eye condition. Her parents, Megan and Luke, were told Mila would likely never see anything more than shadows in her right eye and that her left eye had no hope of gaining sight. Just shy of a month old, Mila was seen by a specialist who offered her a more hopeful prognosis. At 4 months old, Mila received a successful cornea transplant in her left eye. She now has vision in that eye with the help of corrective glasses. “We thought Mila would never see our faces. Now, she smiles at us and laughs at our funny faces! It was absolutely amazing to see her vision improve following her cornea transplant—it gave our family so much hope!” 💙💚 #WorldSightDay #DonateLife Thank you to AltruVision for this story!
