Live music has always been a collective celebration, an experience grounded in the physical connection of people’s bodies, dancing, and feeling the music together. It's all about this eye contact you have with a stranger a few milliseconds before the drop. That’s why, while we’re seeing more experiments with metaverse live shows, I believe the future of live performance lies in augmented physical experiences, keeping the human connection while pushing reality further and further. Recently, I’ve been exploring ways to empower live performances using motion capture technology and real-time rendering. In my project Braindead, I used a Rokoko Smartsuit to give performers real-time control over the virtual environments surrounding them, bridging the gap between the physical and digital in a way that enhances the emotional intensity of live music. I’m thrilled to announce that I’m now working with the amazing La Colère on her next live show, building on the Braindead system to create an even more immersive and interactive experience for the audience. We’re excited to premiere this collaboration at the Case à Chocs in Neuchâtel on October 25th.
