Linking the memories of our elders to the imagination of our youth. RCODE celebrates history, culture, and the arts.

About us

In 2018, Marvin Anderson created the Rondo Center of Diverse Expressions (RCODE) at 315 N. Fisk Street. RCODE was formed to carry on the work initiated by Rondo Avenue Inc., and to provide administrative responsibility to the adjacent Rondo Commemorative Plaza. Our goals are threefold: 1) to celebrate history, cultural creativity, and the importance of the arts, 2) to inspire diverse people to find common ground in the Rondo corridor, and 3) to bring people together to build a trusting, robust, and engaging neighborhood. In coordination with the Rondo Commemorative Plaza, our location offers a unique venue for events; houses the Rondo Research Collection; and includes a small museum for the display of art and artifacts interpreting the Rondo experience. In addition, we host events throughout the year, including an annual Juneteenth celebration, Jazz at the Plaza series, movement & exercise classes, opportunities to engage with art and culture, and an annual celebration of Engraved Brick purchasers.

  • The 2024 RCODE Brick Campaign is live! Look out for these flyers at coffee shops, libraries, and grocery stores near you. Photos are from RCODE’s new collection at the Minnesota Digital Library. As always, brick purchasers are honored with a ceremony in September. Bricks can be purchased at the website in our bio, or over the phone by calling Operations Manager Linda Cobb at (651) 447-2157. Funds from the brick campaign support arts programs, events, and maintenance at RCODE/RCP. Last year we established the Rondo Plaza Century Club for members of the Rondo community who have attained 100 years. If this applies to you, we would be honored to include an engraved brick in your name at no charge! Please contact Linda Cobb for more details.
