About us
Rooted Hospitality Group (RHG, or Rooted) is an award-winning, Long Island-based restaurant hospitality company that has been exceeding customers’ expectations for nearly 10 years. Founded in 2009 by David and Rachel Hersh, the company began with a dream to create a gathering place that paired sun, soft sand, and refreshing breezes with good drinks, chef-driven food, and great company. It has created some of Long Island‘s most beloved restaurants and bars, which all offer the company’s signature warmth and hospitality. In 2010, RHG opened its first location, RUMBA in Hampton Bays, NY. Two years later, RHG acquired one of the most beautiful properties in the same area, injected its vision, and Cowfish Restaurant was opened in 2012, also in Hampton Bays, NY. Beginning in 2014, RHG acquired a property in Patchogue, NY, on the revitalized downtown Main Street, where they renovated and reconstructed a one-story restaurant into a tri-level space that includes the only rooftop dining terrace in the area. RHUM, sister restaurant to RUMBA, opened its doors in 2016. Other projects include flora in Westhampton Beach, NY and AVO TACO in New Hyde Park, NY and New Orleans, LA. RHG operates under the highest attention to service and a dedication to delivering a superior customer experience - something they call “Hospitality DNA.” As industry leaders, RHG also specializes in consulting services in restaurant and hospitality providing customized solutions to each. Team outings are more than just a break from the daily grind; they’re opportunities to strengthen team bonds, boost morale, and foster a positive corporate culture. On a recent Group RHG trip to reward our team members for their incredible performances, we visited the vibrant atmosphere of Brooklyn Brewery for a special behind-the-scenes tour! We got to see where all the magic happens and then were fortunate enough to taste their amazing lineup of brews… The Fonio Rising Double Pilsner was a big hit with us! After the tour, we explored Brooklyn, visiting a nearby rooftop bar to sip some cocktails before ending our adventure at a fun shuffleboard spot, where our team got to enjoy some spirited competition and, of course, dancing!
