UX Design Leadership | Community Builder | Elevating Design at Scale | Ex Amazon, Target, UHG and 3M

Several months ago, when Rachel Posman reached out and asked me if she could feature my research about Design Ops market trends that I had presented at a conference in her new book with John Calhoun, I was THRILLED to be included in what has been a clear gap of an updated resource that’s fully dedicated to our beloved Design Ops professionals, aka Design Conductors ;). I have spent over 20 years in the UX / Product Design field, 11 of those being a leader of UX designers, researchers and writers. During that time, I’ve built 5+ teams from the ground up, and helped improve the operational excellence and design maturity of several others. I know first hand how critical this space is to the success of how your design team operates. In my early years as a design leader, I WISH I had a guide like this instead of having to stumble through so many trial and error moments. So whether you’re solely in the Design Ops field, or you’ve mostly been in my shoes where you’re in lean environments where Design Ops is often the double job of the Design leader, consider this book your CHEAT CODE. I love seeing so many folks from the community that I respect also contribute to this effort! This book is gold, and if you lead a design team, hope to, or are in the design ops field, you need this book on your shelf. Thank you for the opportunity to be a small part of your huge effort Rachel Posman and John Calhoun. Kudos! 👏 ✨ Get your copy today from Rosenfeld Media: https://lnkd.in/gjyE_iQM #Designops #DesignOperations #DesignManagement #UX #Productdesign #DesignLeadership

What is organizational development (OD), and how do you know when your organization needs to bring in an OD specialist? If you need someone to help provide a neutral perspective and facilitate better communication and problem-solving, allow teams to step back and evaluate how they work together, and address the complexities and “weirdness” that can emerge in workplace dynamics...then organizational development should be on your radar. Enter Amanda Woolley, our guest on the latest episode of the Rosenfeld Review podcast. Louis Rosenfeld sits down with Amanda to discuss her journey into organizational development and how she’ll bring her experience and OD perspective to her panel at Advancing Service Design 2024. 🎧 Listen now: https://lnkd.in/eDEz2Thj ⚡️ Learn more about #ASD2024: https://lnkd.in/ePvMNmWB #organizationaldevelopment #servicedesign #ux #uxpodcast

Why is it so hard to deliver optimal patient experiences in healthcare in the United States? Let's talk about it. Service designers who work within large health systems get to experience the difficulties of implementing changes in a singular or multi-level service interaction across healthcare touchpoints. So, how do we create an impact? 🤔 At Advancing Service Design 2024, Service Design Lead Carol Massá will share first-hand learnings on how to influence the decision-making process of solutions that shape the patient and the clinician experience. “Design for Impact” author Erin Weigel has been named Experimentation Thought Leader of the Year! So well deserved 👏

View profile for Erin Weigel, graphic

📚 Author of "Design for Impact" • Principal Designer, Senior Group Design Manager & Product Experimentation

I just won the “Experimentation Thought Leader of the Year” award. 😭🙏🙌🎉 I’m SO GRATEFUL that y’all have been so supportive of my antics over the years. I was on a list made by Kameleoon with many other exceptionally deserving humans including: Shiva Manjunath—My homie through and through (check out his podcast From A to B) Iqbal Ali—An amazing artist and experimentation thinker Deborah O'Malley—A heavyweight in the industry whose content inspired me when I was a young designer (check out Guess The Test) Kevin Anderson—A kind human obsessed with data who helps you find experimentation jobs (sign up for his email list Experimentation Jobs) Stuti Kathuria—Sharing AB test insights with her followers to help us all get inspired Follow them all if you haven’t already! I *think* the main reason I won the award is because I recently published my book “Design for Impact: Your Guide to Designing Effective Product Experiments”. I’m passionate about simplifying and making the math behind why experimentation works ACCESSIBLE. So if you’re scared to get into testing your work because you’re afraid of being wrong and you don’t know what a p-value is—check out my book. Thanks so much to Kameleoon for elevating experimentation and for shining a spotlight on all the amazing humans in our industry. 🙏
