  • Rain did not dampen the Lancaster Recovery Day event on September 29! The event had resources tables, face painting, haircuts, photo both, live music and amazing food. An impressive serenity circle spread across the field, showing the power of collaboration. We were thankful to be a part of this impactful event.

  • We want to shout out our community partner, Sara’s House of Hope. Their mission is to help families impacted by a loved one’s active substance use, and families who have had a substance-related loss. On September 28, Sara’s House of Hope hosted their annual 5k run/walk. Sure there were some rain drops here and there, but the event was a great success! Runners and walkers alike showed their support for this amazing organization. Winners took to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place podiums for their awards, and the day ended with a raffle of some great gifts. Roxbury Hospital is proud of Sara’s House of Hope and honored to be a sponsor of this event and help with DJ services for the day.

  • Gettysburg College Counseling and Wellness Services hosted Fresh Check Day, a concept created by The Jordan Porco Foundation (JPF) and designed to bring the whole campus community together to "check-in" on the mental health and wellness of college students. We were happy to be involved and the students were so kind and engaging.

  • Thank you, Chambersburg Salvation Army, for hosting a back-to-school community block party this past weekend. Food, games, bounce house, ice cream, prizes and community resources were on hand for all those who attended. Thank you to our friends at Keystone Health for hanging out with us for the day!

  • Here is a throwback from an event we attended earlier in summer. The crack of the bat could be heard all over Norlo Park on Saturday, June 14 as softball after softball was crushed over the homerun fence. This event marked the 9th annual Homerun Derby that benefits Gracie’s Place, a substance use recovery home for women located in Chambersburg. Make sure you check out this great event next year and watch athletes of all ages swing for the fences! Each time we can support someone’s recovery is a homerun in our eyes.

  • Last week, we helped host the Dauphin County Recovery Day Baseball Game at the Harrisburg Senators. This nearly sold-out game was a huge success. Danny Alberts, from Hero in the Fight, rallied the crowd with the purple recovery rally towels. A heated wiffle ball game took place in the outfield prior to the game and a line of resource tables provided game attendees the knowledge that there are many treatment options and pathways to recovery. Of course, Matt, Director of Business Development, needed his photo with Mayfly the mascot! The night ended with fireworks to highlight that recovery is possible. #NationalRecoveryMonth

      +1
  • We had a great time at the recent Waynesboro Recovery Month Event. This event was family-friendly, with a focus on children's activities, recovery education and support. There were several community partners present such as Halfway Housing, Patient Transportation, and a huge group of staff from the host, Pyramid. The community enjoyed the DJ who played a variety of music, and the children had a bounce house, golfing game, raffle prizes, and cotton candy to enjoy. Drew, the host this event, ended with a very heartfelt speech about his ongoing recovery. Others shared a story about the loss to overdose and experience of strength and hope. Their stories were vulnerable and sincere with passion, and commitment to help those still in the struggle of sobriety. Roxbury offered card games, tattoos, stickers, candy, pencils, and erasers, to the children, and we also gave printed collateral for the adults for education on our services. #NationalRecoveryMonth
