I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in the FERC scoping meeting and site visit for our Seminoe Pumped Storage project in Wyoming. This marks a significant milestone in our federal permitting process. The Seminoe project will play a vital role in modernizing the electrical grid's ability to deliver reliable energy for the future.

Yesterday, we celebrated the groundbreaking of our Green River Energy Center—a monumental 800 megawatt combined solar + storage project in Eastern Utah. At the heart of this groundbreaking event were some key voices, including: Tom Dodson with Sundt Construction Scott Bruno with BODEC, Inc. Thomas Burns with PacifiCorp Christian Gardner with Gardner Group Luigi Resta with rPlus Energies The Honorable Spencer Cox, Governor of Utah, who reminded us that, “When rural Utah thrives, the entire state prospers.” These projects are not just about energy—they're about community. Local jobs, partnerships with Utah companies, and the collaboration of many hands will ensure the success of this project, and we're excited to continue building energy solutions that benefit all Utahns. The “Got Milk?” campaign is one of the most iconic in history, giving the U.S. dairy industry a massive boost. It was simple, memorable, and impactful. The solar industry? We're missing that same rallying cry. Right now, as some communities grapple with uncertainty around renewable energy projects in their backyards, we’ve got a problem. Our messaging is scattered and inconsistent. We focus on individual projects or state-level campaigns, failing to capture the full picture of what solar can do for America’s economy, environment, and energy independence. We’re at a critical moment, and it’s clear we need our own “Got Milk?” campaign. A national, unified message that cuts through the noise and gets people excited about solar energy. Here’s what we need to do: Align Our Messaging: It’s time to stop going at it alone and work together as an industry to create a cohesive narrative. Simplify Our Language: No more jargon. Let’s make solar accessible and engaging for everyone. Emphasize the Economic Impact: The numbers are on our side. Our industry creates jobs, boosts local economies, and supports American national security. Let’s hammer that point home. Other industries have figured out how to tap into people’s hearts and minds with effective storytelling. We’re lagging behind. But the demand for energy is growing rapidly, and if we want to meet it, we need to start telling a better story—one that gets entire communities, from small towns to major cities, on board with this transition. As RE+ kicks off this week, let’s challenge ourselves as an industry to create that unifying slogan, a rallying cry that helps solar stand out in this competitive energy landscape—something everyone can rally around, making solar not just a solution, but a community asset. It’s more than just a good idea—it’s essential to our future success. We’ve got the story—now it’s time to tell it right.

"We are now facing a critical issue: Like the rest of the United States, access to power is becoming a potential growth constraint — or could it become a competitive advantage?" Maile Resta from our team shares why Utah is uniquely positioned to lead the next energy revolution. Check out her piece in The Salt Lake Tribune here: https://lnkd.in/g7WC-QZR
