On Monday, Madalyn and Ed from our ecological land care division, Botanica, spoke to members of Grow Native Massachusetts at our client's home in Concord on the topic of meadow management. The landscape, designed by Crowley Cottrell | Landscape Architecture , was planned with the homeowner's goal of giving back the land to the native pollinators, animals and plants. Only one year after install, the meadow grasses, sprinkled with annual wildflowers, are looking spectacular and creating homes for local creatures, not to mention the natural beauty. The property, clear cut by the previous owner, has been brought back to life with the installation of hundreds of plants - all native species. Madalyn and Ed shared their expert tips with the group on preparing your soil, choosing your meadow grasses, and managing the mowing, watering and growth plans for years to come.
