We're using the practice of pharmacy to make clinical trials a viable healthcare option for Everyone, Everywhere.
About us
Committed to improving the way clinical trials are managed, making them more efficient and effective to drive more drugs to the market faster, RXE2 is focused on leveraging the power of community, and specifically community pharmacists, providing them with powerful and cutting-edge technology, so that they can help the pharmaceuticals with their challenges in clinical trials. Clinical studies traditionally take many years and cost hundreds of millions of dollars to design, run and analyze. The biggest challenges pharmaceutical companies face when it comes to clinical trials and research are usually patient recruitment (both in time and diversity), patient engagement and retention (patient adherence to the protocol, dropout rates) and the logistics of drug dispensing and counseling. RXE2 taps into its vast network of community pharmacists and leverages their expertise, knowledge of their communities and patients and the trust they enjoy by their patients to help the pharmaceuticals resolve these challenges. We do all this with powerful AI, Machine Learning and other cutting-edge technologies.

The advent of new technologies and innovations is transforming the landscape of clinical trials, with a notable impact on the clinical supply chain. Global events such as storms, pandemics, and conflicts have a significant impact on our lives. For clinical trials, however, every disruption in logistics can be critical. Consider a scenario in which a patient is unable to reach the trial site during the trial period, or investigational drugs are not delivered to their intended destination in a DCT trial due to transportation issues. In addition, there may be instances where a patient requires counseling that cannot be provided remotely, or when the trial site is inaccessible for other reasons. We've listed some key trends in clinical trial supply chains and how RxE2 is addressing these trends and challenges. #clinicaloperations #clinicaltrials #clinops

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day 2024, focusing on "𝙿̲𝚛̲𝚒̲𝚘̲𝚛̲𝚒̲𝚝̲𝚒̲𝚣̲𝚒̲𝚗̲𝚐̲ ̲𝙼̲𝚎̲𝚗̲𝚝̲𝚊̲𝚕̲ ̲𝙷̲𝚎̲𝚊̲𝚕̲𝚝̲𝚑̲ ̲𝚒̲𝚗̲ ̲𝚝̲𝚑̲𝚎̲ ̲𝚆̲𝚘̲𝚛̲𝚔̲𝚙̲𝚕̲𝚊̲𝚌̲𝚎̲," it is crucial to recognize the mental health challenges faced not only by patients but also by healthcare professionals, particularly pharmacists. Recent insights reveal that pharmacists are uniquely positioned to address mental health issues in their communities while grappling with their own mental health challenges. 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀: The United States is experiencing a significant mental health crisis, with approximately 1 𝘪𝘯 5 𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘴 reporting that the COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted their mental well-being. This includes a rise in conditions such as depression and substance use disorders (SUDs). 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀' 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲: Community pharmacists are critical in identifying and supporting patients at risk of mental illness. They conduct screenings, run mental health promotion campaigns, and provide education to patients and their families. Their accessibility makes them frontline providers in mental health care. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀: The pandemic has not only increased the demand for mental health services but has also led to heightened stress, anxiety, burnout, and depression among pharmacists themselves. Reports indicate that 41.9% 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘹𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘺 𝘴𝘺𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘴, while 18.3% 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯. This dual burden emphasizes the need for workplace support systems. 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: To enhance their role in mental health care, pharmacists require better education and training focused on mental health issues. Additionally, fostering a culture of resilience within pharmacy workplaces can help mitigate stress and improve overall well-being among staff. 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: As the landscape of mental health treatment evolves, particularly with emerging therapies like psychedelic medicines, pharmacists will play an essential role in patient counseling and medication management. Ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and resources is vital for optimizing patient outcomes. By prioritizing mental health within pharmacy workplaces, we not only enhance the well-being of pharmacists but also improve the quality of care provided to patients struggling with mental health issues. A recent review on 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 (ADs) in clinical trials highlights their potential to enhance trial efficiency, flexibility, and ethical considerations. The review analyzed 317 studies utilizing ADs, revealing key insights into their implementation and benefits. The review focused on various adaptive design methodologies and their application across different types of clinical trials. The review highlighted that adaptive designs can be utilized in both exploratory and confirmatory trials, emphasizing their flexibility and potential for efficiency. The review did make references to the most common challenges in clinical trials: patient recruitment, engagement, and adherence. 1. 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀: The authors emphasized the need for a deeper understanding of factors influencing patient engagement in clinical trials, which is crucial for successful recruitment and retention. 2. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀: The authors noted that 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘦𝘴 are essential for conveying the complexities of adaptive designs to all stakeholders involved, including trial teams, patients, and regulatory bodies. Improved communication can enhance participant understanding and willingness to engage in trials. 3. 𝗜𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀: The review suggested that an iterative design process, involving close collaboration among clinical experts, patient advocates, regulators, and biostatisticians, can improve recruitment strategies. 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘱𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴, 𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘥𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦. 4. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗱𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: While the review did not provide extensive data on adherence rates specifically linked to adaptive designs, it implied that 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘥𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭. 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 play a crucial role in addressing communication challenges and enhancing patient adherence in clinical trials. By leveraging their established relationships within the community, pharmacists can effectively communicate trial details to potential participants, ensuring that patients understand the benefits and commitments involved. Additionally, they can provide personalized counseling throughout the trial process, addressing any concerns and fostering trust. This direct engagement helps to improve adherence by ensuring that patients feel supported and informed, ultimately leading to better trial outcomes. #ClinicalTrials #AdaptiveDesigns #InnovationInResearch
