Individual tickets for SABANY’s 2024 Annual Leadership Awards Gala are officially available at www.SABANY.org! The Gala will be held on Wednesday September 4, 2024 at Ziegfeld Ballroom (141 West 51st Street NY, NY). The Gala begins at 6:30pm with cocktail hour, the programming beginning at 7:30pm, and after party details will be announced at the Gala. Dress code is formal western or traditional Indian attire. SABANY held its Tenth Annual Private Sector Reception on July 25, 2024 at Dear Irving. The Reception is a unique opportunity for SABANY’s senior level private sector members to network and reconnect in a social environment regardless of sector. This year we saw old and new faces who were able to connect and find new ways to support one another and our community. We thank the many members who attended and brought our event to life. We look forward to fostering our community at future SABANY events, including our upcoming Annual Leadership Gala (September 4, 2024).

Maneet currently serves as Editor at Large at Forbes and is the Founder of the Forbes Iconoclast, a global investment summit. Maneet was featured in Forbes “30 under 30”, authored  The Alpha Masters and hosts the “Megatrends” podcast. Maneet was a Knight-Bagehot fellow at Columbia University - Graduate School of Journalism and had over a decade-long tenure at CNBC including as Senior Editor and co-founder of Delivering Alpha, the network’s flagship annual Wall Street summit. SABANY attended the South Asian Bar Association (SABA) of North America Annual Conference held in Toronto from July 11-13, 2024. SABA NA awarded Ryan Budhu the Cornerstone Award highlighting his contributions to the legal profession. Ryan is a Trial Attorney in the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division and as part of the Division’s Procurement Collusion Strike Force, and concurrently serves as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the District of New Jersey. Ryan currently serves as a SABANY Director and was SABANY’s President in 2019. Beesham A. Seecharan, Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, and a Client Advisor at Matthews South spoke on a headline lunch panel entitled Courtroom to the Oscars. The panel explored Oscar-nominated film To Kill A Tiger that Beesham deeply supported during its creation and distribution. Several SABANY members moderated and spoke on panels during the conference: Tawfiq Rangwala, Partner at Milbank LLP , led a dynamic panel discussion on Regulatory Enforcement and Internal Investigations. Hamel Vyas, Senior Associate Dean for International Personnel, and HR Regulatory and Compliance, at the Mount Sinai Health System and Ashish Bhatt Associate at Fragomen, spoke on a panel on Immigration Policy and Trends in the US and Canada led by Rohit Biswas, Associate at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP. Mahesh Parlikad / महेश पार्लिकाड, Partner at Jones Day, Samidh Guha, Founding Partner at Guha PLLC and Vishal Gupta, Partner at Steptoe LLP spoke on a panel entitled Bet the Company discussing the many facets of high profile litigation. SABANY’s President Hena Vora, Litigation Associate at Proskauer Rose LLP, amazed us all with her incredible singing voice at SABA’s Got Talent. It was heartening to see such a robust contingent of New York members present at the conference and we hope your involvement with SABANY and SABA continues throught your career.
