Whether you’re contemplating installing an EV charging station to attract customers to your business or as an amenity to tenants, installing an EV charging station is more than simply placing a charger at a parking spot—it requires a thorough understanding of the existing electrical system. Conducting an electrical system assessment before planning and installing an EV charging station is not just important; it’s critical to ensuring safety, functionality, and long-term efficiency. Regulatory and power company requirements, service capacity, proposed charging station location and even communication accessibility are all issues affecting the viability of an EV charging installation. EV chargers demand significant power, especially for fast-charging stations. Without an assessment, the existing electrical infrastructure may not have the capacity to handle the increased load. An electrical assessment identifies the current capacity and determines whether upgrades, such as new wiring or panel replacements, are necessary to support the charging station. Let SAC and our certified experts work with your team to navigate these huddles to get your projects completed. Innovative Designs, Precisely Deployed NPMO Chris McGee

Did you know? J.D. Power experts reported that the electric vehicle (EV) share of the US automobile market was 8% in 2023, and is expected to grow to 12% in 2024 and 18% in 2025. By 2030, this share could reach 46%, and by 2035, a staggering 64%. According to the EEI forecast, approximately 12.9 million charge ports will be needed to support the 26.4 million EVs projected to be on U.S. roads by 2030. This includes an estimated 140,000 DC fast charging (DCFC) ports to meet demand. If your company is navigating the rapidly growing EV charging space and requires expert installation services, SAC is here to help. We specialize in the installation of EV charging stations, solar arrays, and LED lighting solutions. Ready to power up your project? Contact SAC today to learn how we can support your growth in the renewable energy sector. Innovative Designs, Precisely Deployed

    Business Development

Throughout my career, I have often found how much the "little things" make for big differences in quality, reliability, and innovation. Read below for such an example.

The little things in innovation: “If you can’t do the little things right, you won’t be able to do the big things well.”-retired Admiral Bill McRaven Little innovations do add up. Take a 3D printed, electrically insulated, plastic orange marking stake designed by a SAC EDG program manager. This stake with it’s accompanying non-metallic measuring tape head, serves as an improved solution to collect survey data at a substation during site walks. The center of the hole of the measuring tape head (see picture) reliably establishes a “zero point” for accuracy in measuring.  Combined with the brightly colored marking stake, you have a reliable, easy to use, and electrically insulated method to collect important field data in the utility environment for planning and design.  An additional value is the marking stake size is a “known length.” With an object of known size, dimensions can be measured accurately in a photograph in the case of any subsequent need to assure the precision of our work. Attention to the little things does indeed enable us to do the bigger things well.  It also shows interest and awareness in the specific utility program and environment. Not only are fresh ideas valuable to the utility, they also encourage the SAC EDG team to always be looking for ways to improve processes for the betterment of the overall PLTE program.   Kelly Hoonan Innovative Designs, Precisely Deployed

It’s been a while since we’ve posted but one thing we have been working on is a realigned and stronger Customer Delivery Group. This alignment brings together decades of experience in Site Acquisition, Architecture & Engineering, Project Management, and telecom construction into one team. The professional strength is deep with significant General Contractor and Electrical license coverage across much of the country as well as multiple Professional Engineers and Architects on the team. Our highly talented CAD professionals produce timely and accurate drawings; and construction teams are experts on wireless, civil, and electrical scopes. Talented employees are a company’s most important asset and this Customer Delivery Team is loaded up! CDG Rob Strauch Innovative Designs, Precisely Deployed
