Join us next week for a half-day Housing Symposium, where community leaders will explore efforts to improve housing and highlight policies that have shaped San Antonio’s housing landscape. This symposium will center on the pillars of equitable housing, access, community, and stability. SACRD.org contributed to this project by identifying affordable services for Internet connectivity, free and low cost devices, training courses, and more. SACRD can help with any of your data collection projects as well.

🚀 Exciting news! In partnership with the amazing team at Community Information Now (CINow), we’ve just launched the Digital Investment Data Tool on the SA Digital Connects website!   Built in partnership, informed by partners, and designed for partners (you see the theme right?!) this resource provides hyper-local data and insights to support critical digital inclusion work done by organizations and advocates across the community.   This tool can be used to inform current/future programs and services as well as track our collective progress toward bridging the digital divide in San Antonio and Bexar County.     A big Thank You to key stakeholders in our working groups [Empower House, Family Service Association of San Antonio, Inc., Compudopt, Human-I-T, Girls Inc., and Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc.], our funders who make our work possible, and the brilliant folks at Community Information Now (CINow).   Check it out on the link below and share with others who may be interested in utilizing the tool. https://lnkd.in/grWbk8QX Go Team! #DIW2024

Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) is held throughout the month of October as a way to promote advocacy and raise awareness to end domestic violence. During this year's Point in Time Count for San Antonio and Bexar County, 534 individuals counted in both sheltered and unsheltered conditions reported they have experienced domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault or stalking. At Close to Home we are committed to increasing awareness about resources that are available to those who are fleeing or attempting to flee Domestic violence through the homeless response system. Understanding affordable housing solutions can be daunting, especially for those who have never faced housing stability issues. According to the San Antonio Report, the city is grappling with more than 95,000 cost-burdened households and a significant shortage of affordable homes. The SACRD team encourages you to educate yourself on San Antonio’s housing crisis and use your voice and expertise to advocate for policies that can improve the lives of our neighbors. We invite you to watch the "Everybody Needs a Home" documentary, which highlights the key intersections of the affordable housing crisis in San Antonio. https://lnkd.in/gz2gPRQN
