This morning’s Breakfast of Hope was deeply moving and inspiring. I was very happy to attend with my beautiful wife Alexandra Villarreal O'Rourke. Many thanks to everyone who supports Safe Alliance and to the amazing team helping survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault every day.

This morning, DA Merriweather and staff from the DA’s Office celebrated the amazing efforts of Safe Alliance at their Breakfast of Hope. The annual event kicks off Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Attendees heard from a survivor who spoke about the kind of support Safe Alliance can provide. The DA’s Office is proud to partner with Safe Alliance, and we are grateful for their efforts on behalf of survivors and their work to end the cycle of violence.

This morning I joined colleagues from our Legal Department at the Breakfast of Hope for Safe Alliance. Wells Fargo was a sponsor of the event, which highlights the incredible work Safe Alliance is doing to combat domestic violence in our community. We partner with Safe Alliance on DV-related pro bono work. Glenn Huether, Jelithza Duque, Tona S. Ravenell, Anna Zielinski and Shamika D. anchored our table.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month! And, what better way to start off the month than to volunteer at Safe Alliance’s Breakfast of Hope event at Camp North End, bright and early this morning!
