One in three Texas women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime, but SafeHaven exists to provide freedom.
SafeHaven is the only state designated family violence center in Tarrant County. Over our 45+ year history, we’ve never strayed from our mission: to end domestic violence in Tarrant County. Everything we do is with the end goal of providing freedom for survivors of domestic violence.
SafeHaven works to end domestic violence in a two-fold manner:
1. Keep victims safe
2. Hold offenders accountable
We are here to take care of the most vulnerable, to keep them safe, and to serve them wherever they are on their journey to escape domestic violence. Our services aren’t one-size-fits-all - that’s why we provide robust resources from shelter and transitional housing, to counseling and legal aid. We want to meet survivors where they are.
As part of our lifelong mission, we also feel an obligation to bring change across the board - change the distribution of power in relationships, change where the blame lies, and change how the system responds.
We will not stop until every woman in Tarrant County feels safe in her relationship.
