  • When we focus only on the magic of motherhood and overlook its challenges—especially perinatal mental health—it becomes much harder for moms to speak up and seek the help they need. In a recent podcast with Women In Government, Jessie Colbert, Executive Director of Mass. PPD Fund, spoke about the importance of breaking the silence around maternal mental health. Her words are a powerful reminder that struggling in motherhood doesn’t make you a ‘bad mom’—it may mean you’re experiencing a common, treatable mental health condition. We’re grateful for tireless advocates like Jessie and Mass. PPD Fund, which works to increase communities’ capacity to support new parents through awareness, training, and advocacy. At Sage, we’re proud to work alongside organizations like Women in Government to bring awareness to the challenges of maternal mental health. Learn more about Mass. PPD Fund: https://bit.ly/4iHNWiw

  • This International Women’s Day, we reflect on the importance of maternal mental health and the need to drive change. For too long, maternal mental health conditions like #postpartumdepression were overlooked, leaving many women to suffer in silence. But real progress is happening. We recognize the women who inspire and drive our work—those who have bravely shared their stories, those fighting for better care, and the incredible women at Sage dedicated to advancing brain health. This year's theme, #AccelerateAction, reminds us that the time for change is now. We’re committed to accelerating momentum in maternal mental health—because when we move faster, more women can get the care they need.  #IWD2025

Today, we celebrate the heart of Sage—our incredible team! On Sagean Appreciation Day, we recognize the passion and dedication our employees bring every day while working to transform brain health. From pioneering medicines in maternal mental health to helping to shape a brighter future for those impacted by brain health disorders, your unwavering commitment to patients fuels our purpose. Thank you, Sageans, for your vision, compassion, and relentless pursuit of life-changing medicines. Here's to you!

  • Sarah, our Director of HCP Marketing, is a dedicated Sagean who was diagnosed with #postpartumdepression twice. After navigating the challenges of PPD with her daughter, Madison, during the pandemic and later with her son, Ryder, Sarah has turned her journey into a mission to help other moms advocate for themselves to get the care they need. “I want moms to know that depression doesn’t always look how you think it will. Advocate for yourself the same way you would for your child. Don’t wait to get help—it doesn’t always go away on its own.” Sarah, we are in awe of your courage, resilience, and dedication to improving maternal mental health. Thank you for sharing your story with us and for inspiring others to seek help and hope. #OurPurposeIsPersonal #ThisIsSage #MaternalMentalHealth

  • Meet Ashley, Postpartum Depression (PPD) Program Lead at Sage. From dreaming of being a marine biologist as a child to pioneering advancements in brain health, Ashley’s journey shows the power of curiosity, determination, and asking the right questions. Here’s what she has to share: 💡 On inspiration: "I’ve wanted to be a scientist for as long as I can remember. Learning how medicines are made in high school shaped my career path." 💡 On rewarding moments: "Hearing stories of people impacted by our medicines reminds me why this work matters." 💡 For aspiring scientists: "Ask a lot of questions! Exploring different areas of science is the best way to find your path." On International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we honor Ashley and the incredible women and girls shaping the future of science and medicine. Together, we’re working to build a world where every person can thrive. #WomenInScience #February11

#MaternalHealthAwarenessDay, established by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), is a powerful reminder of the work still needed to improve outcomes for women and families, particularly in maternal mental health. In a new op/ed for Fortune, Sage’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Laura Gault, and Dr. Earl Quinn Peeper, OB/GYN, explore how we can elevate the standard of care in maternal mental health, including helping women with #postpartumdepression (PPD). Their message is clear: PPD is a public health issue that deserves urgent attention, and OB-GYNs, as pivotal members of the care team, are uniquely positioned to lead the way in advancing maternal mental health. On this important day of awareness, let’s commit to fostering meaningful change and building a brighter future for women and families everywhere. Read their full piece to learn more: https://bit.ly/4h6BZm8
