Yesterday marked a joyous occasion, as one of our dearest friends welcomed her first child into the world—a perfect little son who is healthy and strong, and already loved by so many people. His mom is not just any friend, but an industry expert we met in our early days at CoreLogic, and became part of the intertwined fabric of both our professional and personal lives. She’s also the catalyst who brought us serendipitously back together to create Sagely & Company. When we set out to build our company, we were super intentional about family, friends, and our local community being at its core and the heart of our purpose. We knew that to thrive as entrepreneurs, we would need to achieve harmony and balance across all of these areas, especially in the modern era where our professional and personal lives are often woven together. Helping to welcome the newest addition to our friend's family was a powerful reminder of the profound bonds across our networks that inspire us in large and small moments, and how these important relationships shape us holistically. For Sagely & Co., this new life was a celebration of family, friends, and community, and putting all else aside to prioritize and be with those we hold near and dear, and to just focus on the moment. Congrats to our friends at INK Communications Co. for turning 20 years old. We are thrilled to have been part of the ride (more than once) with you all!
Today, INK Communications Co. turned 20. In 2004, I did not dare dream those words. I was focused on running this business one day at a time, hopeful about making it through the year, with a long-term goal of five. (I’d read a business book along the way that said most small businesses fail within the first five years of existence and I really took the stress of that to heart.) While the business of doing business was top-of-mind, our mission was always at the core. Doing good work with good people really does makes for a good life. Or as the great Conan O’Brien once said: “If you work really hard, and are kind, amazing things will happen.” We would not have made it past that year mark, let alone all the way to 20, without our over 200 client partnerships across two decades. While every single client makes an impact on INK, I want to highlight some of the gamechangers on this very big day, including the Bluetooth SIG, ACCIONA, Gemalto, CSID, National Instruments, MapMyFitness, Whole Foods Market 365, CoreLogic, Rackspace, Enel, Q2, Open Lending...and the list goes on. The people we worked with and the experience we gained shaped this company in major ways, including the very welcome boomerangs of former clients and INKers-turned-clients who trusted us with their partnership more than once.
