Recognizing the 2024 Food & Beverage Employee of the Year On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, our Food & Beverage Department held their annual Employee of The Year Reception to announce 2024's Winner and celebrate all of the nominees. Each Employee of the Month Winner from 2024 was in the running for the award. The nominees and their invited guests were treated to a complete private dining experience inside BAZAAR Meat, finished with champagne, specialty cocktails and dessert. Additionally, Food & Beverage leadership prepared personalized gift bags for each nominee. 2024's Winner was Liz, a friendly face many guests might recognize as a gifted bartender at Balla Italian Soul and one of our "Day One" Team Members. Congratulations to Liz and all of 2024's nominees for being shining examples of the dedicated and personalized service that defines the SAHARA Las Vegas experience!

Sahara Las Vegas Since its grand opening in 1952 as the sixth hotel on the Strip, the Sahara Hotel & Casino has been a cornerstone of Las Vegas entertainment. Known for its legendary lounge acts, the Sahara hosted icons like Louis Prima, Dean Martin, and Keely Smith. The hotel even played a role in Beatlemania—when the Fab Four performed in Vegas in 1964, they stayed at the Sahara, where slot machines were sent to their rooms to avoid the potential frenzy of underage fans on the casino floor. Honoring Fallen North Las Vegas Officer Jason Roscow - 2.13.2025 It was a solemn morning on Las Vegas Blvd. as we paid our respects to Officer Jason Roscow of the North Las Vegas Police Department during his funeral procession. Officer Roscow's selflessness and bravery in protecting our community — not to mention his 17 years of service and background as a veteran of the U.S. Air Force — truly embody what it means to be a hero of the Las Vegas Valley. SAHARA Las Vegas is forever grateful to the law enforcement and first responders who so courageously keep our communities safe.

Spreading Holiday Cheer in Our Community 🎁 For the third consecutive year, we partnered with Robert E Lake Elementary School to donate and deliver holiday gifts to families in our community. Thanks to the generosity of our SAHARA Team Members and the dedicated folks at our partner school, we brightened the holidays for 87 children from 28 families this year. On December 19th, 2024, six delivery caravans made up of SAHARA Las Vegas Team Members and Robert E. Lake faculty & staff personally delivered the heartfelt gifts. Seeing the smiles on the faces of the children and their families was a joyful experience, reminding us of the power of kindness and community — especially during the holiday season. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. Together, we’re creating lasting memories and making a difference. We look forward to continuing this tradition, and invite you to join us in spreading joy and hope in our community. #SAHARACares

A Toast to Our Superheroes! The Meruelo Group Night of Recognition On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, the Meruelo Group celebrated the Superhero Program winners with a festive Reception and Dinner at SAHARA Las Vegas. The Superhero Program is designed to recognize outstanding Team Members whose talents and dedication make a significant impact on the success of our company. Seven winners were rewarded with an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime prize – a trip for two to anywhere in the world! The event opened with a warm welcome and a champagne toast from Paul Hobson, SVP and General Manager of SAHARA Las Vegas. The spotlight then shifted to Alexis Meruelo, Chief Vision and Purpose Officer for Meruelo Group, and creator of the Superhero Program. Alexis described her inspiring vision behind the program and shared heartfelt stories about each winner. During the event, Stacy King, SAHARA VP of Human Resources, expressed pride in our Team Members. Joining her were Virginia Crowe, CPLP, VP at Grand Sierra Resort, and Maria Cardenas, VP for Meruelo Group, who also shared heartfelt pride and admiration for the honorees. The evening’s festivities featured a delicious dinner and upbeat music from a guest DJ, building excitement until the big moment when Alexis Meruelo proudly announced the winners!
