Community Health Workers (CHW) are a critical part of helping patients navigate the healthcare system. When social needs are identified, community health workers connect those in need with local resources including healthcare, transportation assistance, financial assistance, food access, and housing programs. During this week's National Community Health Workers (CHW) Appreciation Week from August 26-30, we're thanking and celebrating our talented team. Help us celebrate them in the comments below! You can also reach them at 208-367-4482 Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. #ourcallingisyou #communityhealthandwellbeing #CHWAppreciationWeek #CHWIdaho

Addressing the factors that threaten the stability of Idaho's healthcare system require a collective approach. Health care leaders came together at City Club of Boise yesterday to do just that. At the forum on The Destabilization of Healthcare in Idaho, panelists discussed innovative ways to contain costs and improve patient outcomes, as well looking toward the path ahead. Saint Alphonsus Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Patrice Burgess and leaders from the Idaho Medical Association, IDAHO HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION and Valor Health in Emmet shared their insights with moderator and VP of State Advocacy at Trinity Health Corey Surber and in front of a sold-out crowd. If you missed the event, it's not too late. Tune into Boise State Public Radio on Sunday, August 25 at 8:00 p.m. or Tuesday, August 27 at 7:00 p.m. for the Idaho Matter's rebroadcast. #ourcallingisyou #Idahohealthcare

What a night! Earlier this month, we proudly supported the Ontario National Night Out event hosted by the Ontario Police Department. The annual event is a community-building initiative across the United States where families are encouraged to engage with their law enforcement officials and neighbors to create a safer community. Special thanks to Kelli Whitmore and Carmen Sherman for joining us with the 3D Mammography Bus, Nurse Educator Roxanne Kudrna for facilitating blood pressure checks, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director Lorenzo Olvera for promoting blood pressure screenings, stroke education and breast cancer education! #ourcallingisyou #ontario #easternoregon #nationalnightout
