  • The FDA now requires all health care providers to notify patients of their breast density. Women with dense breast tissue—representing 40% of women in the U.S.—have a higher risk of developing breast cancer. Cancer in dense breasts, however, is harder to detect—so how do radiologists do it? Dr. Ruby Meierotto, a Saint Luke’s breast radiologist, explains the difference between breast cancer screenings for patients who are average risk and patients who are at higher risk. • Emily has been a nurse at Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City for 19 years. Looking for a change, she wanted to find a job where she could still provide quality patient care and use the skills she’s learned while learning new ones. She knew other nurses who worked on the Hospital In Your Home team and enjoyed it, so she looked into the opportunity for herself. Hospital In Your Home gives eligible patients the opportunity to recover in the comfort of their own homes, equipping them with the technology to access their care team 24/7. Emily enjoys that the Hospital In Your Home team works around each patient’s schedule and personal preferences. “We do our best to plan visits around each patient’s normal sleep and wake schedule,” Emily said. “We can offer a home health aide to provide assistance with personal care and other patient needs. Hospital In Your Home is what I would want for myself.” Learn more about Hospital In Your Home: https://heyor.ca/PU77iO
