We’ve officially moved production of the SV204 series to the US! Mass production started this month at our Adairsville, Georgia manufacturing facility. This means that SAKAI now builds ALL soil compactors for the United States & Canada markets here stateside. We are incredibly proud to build these machines with American grit 🦅. There are no robots, just real folks! Look for the big flag decal on the frame of new SAKAI rollers to see those built here. As a reminder, anything we don’t build here yet is precision-manufactured in Japan & tested/inspected/prepped here in Georgia. The SV204 series is a 54” 5-ton class soil compactor with a choice of smooth drum, padfoot or sheeps foot, and a padfoot with smooth shell. Congratulations to Brad Belvin on his 5th anniversary w/ SAKAI America. Technically he worked for us previously, left & came back for this second stint. Brad is our Manager of Sales & Marketing. He manages a team including 4 Regional Sales Managers, a Marketing Manager, & a Sales Support Rep. In this role Brad is instrumental in not just driving our sales goals but in supporting relationships with all dealers & our national contractors. He also plays the part of our most knowledgeable US asphalt specialist consulting with contractors to achieve best compaction results with SAKAI machines. Highlights from a large parking lot addition in Warner Robins, Georgia. 3 rollers on the job: 2 SAKAI SW354W (wide) plus a 70’s Komatsu tire roller (which was essentially a copy of a SAKAI). The third-generation contractor (Houston Asphalt Paving) gets his best density results running the double drum on vibe as breakdown at high speed, followed by the tire roller at slow speed for density, then the second double drum at medium speed without vibe to take out the tire marks. He says 94-96% density minimum. He’s tried every roller you can think of & now only runs SAKAI. Says he’s never had one break on a job & the support he gets from Reynolds Warren Equipment is great. Other rollers broke often, had electrical issues, poor water systems, or had poor support. Dealer support being the single biggest factor. Why deal with equipment or dealers that let you down?
