    Have you ever wondered what a sales play is? Although the term has been used for decades across sales and marketing teams, it is commonly undefined, and until now, there hasn't been a central definition or framework. TL;DR: A sales play is an organized selling motion designed to deliver the right message, to the right person, at the right time. Sales plays can be across your entire company or built to sell into one specific account. A sales play has a standard Bill of Materials (BOM): - Message and point of view - Suggested products - Sequence/cadence - Powerpoint slides - Customer stories you can name drop - Ebooks or executive summaries - Proposal This set of sales materials supports the sales rep in telling a consistent and relevant story throughout the sales cycle.     Huge Changes Coming to Our Small Startup It has been one year since I left my corporate job to start SalesPlay X. If you know me, you will know I am an entrepreneur down to my core. This journey has been the most challenging and rewarding of my career. Was it as easy as I expected when I started this? Absolutely not! However, as we turn the chapter to year 2 in business, I have never felt more aligned with my mission, clear on who I am, and the impact this business is making. Here are just a few recent achievements that are worth sharing: 🌟 Strategic Rebranding: We've rebranded to SalesPlay X. This new name is in better alignment with our core value prop of helping sales teams bring their plans to life. We are the best platform for sales teams who are going after a named account list and a complex sales cycle with multiple industries, personas, and use case. 💹 400% Increase in Revenue: All the hard work for the last six months finally came to an inflection point. We saw a 400% jump in Month-over-Month Revenue and a 200% jump in annual contracts. 📈 Customers See the Value and Are Investing: Our impact is clear, as demonstrated by the investment from Jason Kurtz, CEO of Basware and Senior Operating Advisor at Accel-KKR. Basware is one of our customers. Jason decided to invest in his funds after he went to their president's club and heard the sales reps raving about the personalized value cases and messaging that our platform is providing them.     This was my second year in a row speaking at the local DigiMarCon Conference. This time, I led a SalesPlay workshop where we created messaging for one specific vertical, and then I walked the attendees through how to create content to support each of the steps of the customer buying journey. I even had 10-page packets! I often preach about how important it is to narrow to the segment level.
