When the travel industry shifted to being heavily internet based and everyone began to rely on reviews from others, the intricacies of travel and many great experiences were lost. Check out the article in the comments about this phenomenon. Through this incredible and beautiful concept of regenerative travel we bring back travel that is focused on great experiences. This brings a focus and importance back to the environment, culture, community, governance, and workforce of the destination. Today we were deeply moved by Carrie Ching's Atlantic article. A touching look back on the fire that devastated the Lahaina community last year. But also a deep and compelling dive into the history of Hawai'i, the key players over hundreds of years of history, and the role insiders and outsiders have on what (and who) makes Hawaii today. She has a memoir coming soon that will most definitely wind up on our must-reads list for visitors to these islands!
