Suppliers, local officials, and community members joined us in Pinal County near Phoenix, Arizona, last week to celebrate the official commissioning of our Eleven Mile Solar Center. This combined solar farm and battery energy storage system (BESS) represents an approximate USD 1 billion dollar investment by Ørsted in clean energy for Arizona and is set to generate approximately USD 80 million in tax revenue to the local community to support public services – and created more than 1,000 local construction jobs. Watch the video from the celebration, and get a glimpse of the largest co-located solar and BESS project on Salt River Project's power grid. SRP’s balanced approach taps into the most efficient, available and cost-effective mix of energy sources. This helps us maintain the reliability and affordability needed for Arizona’s hot summers while strengthening economic growth in the region.
