Shears of Hope: Transforming Lives One Haircut at a Time On September 30, volunteers visited The Salvation Army Orange County's Anaheim Emergency Shelter to provide haircuts for the guests. Many of them expressed that they hadn’t had a haircut in years due to their circumstances of homelessness and lack of funds. One of the volunteers shared that she had experienced homelessness herself in the past, and now she uses her skills to give back to the community. The smiles on the guests' faces after receiving their haircuts and seeing themselves in the mirror were truly priceless.

Last week, we had the honor of welcoming Commissioner Hodder, National Commander of The Salvation Army US, to Orange County! He shared inspiring insights on our mission and the bright future ahead for our community. Together with local leaders, donors, pastors, and staff, we are committed to #DoingTheMostGood. ❤

Check out our newly wrapped vans! These vans are used all over Orange County to transport children from our preschool, carry supplies, and help our clients get to where they need to go. You can be sure when you see one of these, that an impact is being made in Orange County!

Erwin Blas, a previous client of our Anti-Human Trafficking Program recently reunited with his wife and daughter for the first time in nearly 18 years. We are so grateful that we were able to be part of this powerful moment. We are committed to transforming lives in Orange County!

Children received Backpacks thanks to the Women’s Auxiliary Recently, The Salvation Army Orange County distributed 120 backpacks with school supplies to children. Along with the backpacks, each child was also offered books to support their reading throughout the upcoming school year, a Halloween costume, and the families received a personal prayer from Pastor Harvey, who prayed for their upcoming school year. Along with donations from the Tustin Ranch Church, the Orange County Fire Authority, and the Ella Fitzgerald Foundation, Auxiliary member donated backpacks and supplies. They also assisted with the setup, and together with the Tustin Ranch Church, provided volunteers to help organize and distribute the backpacks.
