Sending much love to our The Salvation Army USA Central Territory and The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory who are each responding to catastrophic tornadoes with fatalities across 6 states this afternoon. #LoveBeyondDisasters

On March 14, devastating tornadoes tore through Missouri, leaving communities reeling in their wake. In response, The Salvation Army’s Midland Divisional Emergency Disaster Services teams have mobilized to provide immediate relief and ongoing support. What’s Happening on the Ground: ✔️ Water & snack distribution is underway, ensuring survivors and responders have essential supplies. ✔️ Emotional & Spiritual Care teams are embedded with our mobile food trucks, offering support to those processing loss and uncertainty. ✔️ Basic Damage assessments are being conducted in partnership with St. Louis County to identify the hardest-hit areas. ✔️ Meal service preparations are in progress as we assess needs and build capacity. Disasters don’t just leave physical destruction—they leave emotional and logistical challenges that take time to recover from. As needs evolve, The Salvation Army remains committed to walking alongside these communities, ensuring no one faces recovery alone. We will continue to share updates as our response unfolds. Thank you to all who make this work possible.

We are so grateful to Amway for generously gifting The Salvation Army $300,000 to fund food insecurity initiatives, scholarships, and other essential programs at our Kroc centers across the country. This gift will make an incredible difference for those in need. ❤️ #communitysupport #doingthemostgood
Community – there’s no better investment. That’s why we’re expanding our commitment to supporting underserved children and families in neighborhoods everywhere through a $300,000 gift to The Salvation Army. The three-year investment will fund food insecurity initiatives, as well as scholarships and programming, at Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Centers across the United States. That includes right here at home. According to Feeding America West Michigan, one in seven West Michiganders faces hunger – including nearly 80,000 kids. For each of the three years, 25% of the Amway funding – $25,000 – will benefit the nutritional service programs run by The Salvation Army and also fund health and wellness programming through the Kroc Center in Grand Rapids. “Access to proper nutrition is foundational to a growing, thriving community,” says Amway Chief Executive Officer Michael Nelson, who also joined The Salvation Army National Advisory Board last month. “We are proud to partner with The Salvation Army to serve children and families facing food insecurity with a solution that helps meet their needs, within their own neighborhoods.” Good nutrition is just the beginning. The Amway gift will also energize educational programming and community access for Kroc Centers, providing underserved kids and adults alike a safe, supportive space to grow and thrive. “These community hubs have something for everyone, regardless of income or social status, to have access to recreational, educational, and cultural programs,” adds Nelson. “West Michigan is fortunate to be home to one of just 26 Kroc Centers nationwide.” Read more on the Amway Global Newsroom: https://lnkd.in/eT3CZP6X

Thank you to Sinclair Inc. for raising awareness about the reality of homelessness and these life-changing services that bring hope to those in need.
Sinclair today announced a partnership with The Salvation Army to launch Sinclair Cares: From Homeless to Hope, a nationwide initiative dedicated to raising awareness about homelessness. With financial instability on the rise and many Americans just one paycheck away from crisis, Sinclair Cares: From Homeless to Hope aims to shed light on the many faces of homelessness and highlight solutions that offer hope and stability. As part of the effort, Sinclair will produce content to air within its newscasts throughout the campaign, which runs from March 17- March 23. Sinclair stations will also air a 30-minute special on March 22 and 23 (airing on stations’ websites on March 19) that delves into the realities of homelessness across the country, told through the experiences of individuals and families impacted by housing insecurity. For more information on Sinclair Cares: From Homeless to Hope and ways to support the initiative or request assistance, visit www.SinclairCares.com.

We are excited to celebrate the addition of our 26th FedEx canteen! These canteens play a vital role in our disaster relief efforts, and we are incredibly grateful for FedEx's continued partnership and support.
Thanks to the generosity of FedEx, we’ve added a brand-new Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) canteen to our fleet! This mobile vehicle will deploy with our EDS teams to provide food, water, and support to survivors and first responders during disasters across Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware. Yesterday, we gathered at our Divisional Headquarters in Philadelphia with representatives from FedEx, The Salvation Army USA, local officials, and community partners for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. This marks the 26th canteen FedEx has donated to The Salvation Army since 2006—an incredible commitment to helping communities in times of crisis. #FedExCares #DoingTheMostGood #SalvationArmy

We are grateful for those who serve on the front lines in a disaster. #disasterresponse #emergency #doingthemostgood
Headed home. There’s never a “good time” to deploy. It interrupts your routine, pulls you away from home, and stretches you in ways you don’t expect. But once you’re on the ground, witnessing The Salvation Army in action—feeding the hungry, meeting urgent needs, and most importantly, praying with people—you realize why you’re there. Disaster relief isn’t just about food and supplies. It’s about hope. It’s about being the hands and feet of Jesus in someone’s darkest moment. That’s the mission. That’s the calling. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” —Psalm 34:18
